My wife and I saved this hike for our last day in Estes making sure we were more acclimated to the elevation as we're from Illinois. This was our most difficult hike yet. Having said that, I consider it to be a moderate level of difficulty just longer than most that we had done with the end scramble being a little on the difficult side. But once you're past the scramble and up at the pass between the two peaks, the views and the feeling I hope you get are more than worth it. I climbed both peaks. The second one that has the actual marker ( photo included) was difficult but well worth it, Just check the pictures. My wife and I are in relatively good shape. We're active but again from Illinois so elevation was a challenge. It took us about 4 and 1/2 hours total up and back. We stopped at the top and ate a snack and rested for about 15 minutes and took...
Read more60 yrs old, In good cycling shape. From the start (out of the car lol) to the top of Twin Sisters is uphill. I considered it a mod to hard effort, would do it again. The trail thru the pines is beautiful, the trail has many MANY large stone steps. The crossing of the 2013 (rain caused) rockslide was eye opening, no worries the trial has been reworked making your trek in that area safe. Once you leave the treeline your efforts are greater with more switchbacks BUT forgotten with the most incredible views. Up and back with basically no breaks, maybe 30-40 minutes...

If you don’t exercise maybe do some endurance training before attempting the hike. We did have to take a few short breaks to catch our breath, but hardly stopped on the way down. I recommend trekking poles and hiking boots. They both helped tremendously as we hiked back down. The view from the peaks is well worth the hike. Take some time at the top to just admire how beautiful everything...
