Hmmmmmmm well at least the area we were in ..it wasn't much of a Park ...it had a Rose Garden and a pond ...I suppose the trees were the draw....but the Vibe wasn't too warm and welcoming..at least during my visit .. Since it's Halloween my model friend and her Sister thought a simple Halloween shoot would be cool there....mind you the area we were in wasn't spacious....nor much of a Park.... anyhow after a few passes from the park Police 🚨 we were asked to not climb onto the trees it was bad for the tree and dangerous for us ....I'd say it wasn't much of a climb nor a disrespectful treatment of the tree ...we were also told we needed a permit to take pictures? That felt a little uncomfortable to me since it was me my camera a step stool and 2 friends .... wasn't a production per say ....two friends in costumes and some cool trees ...for a Halloween shoot... there's actual serious things happening in this world .... harassing a few adults taking Halloween pictures should be at the...

Somerset county has some beautiful parks and Colonial Park is a gem ,has much of what a park should have . Great local get away . Picnic tables and picnic groves with barbecue areas . Has a playground for children , miniature golf , paddle-boats,ball fields, and even a bocce ball court.Nice paved walk way and some trails thru the woods too .Small fishing ponds ,also a dog park fenced in to socialize your dogs ! Please clean up after your pets .... Display gardens a spectacular Rose Garden and a spectacular perennial garden with many exotic trees ,plants ,and bushes. Part of this special park is located next a very special State of New Jersey Park that runs along the Delaware Raritan .Just another one of the garden state examples of how and why New Jersey is the garden state . Please don't litter in this beautiful park or...

I used to visit this park all the time when I was younger. I am talking about 40 years ago. So, today when I visited the park I was amazed at how it changed since that time. Back then it was a nice park with paddle boats, several ponds and picnic areas.

Now the park is so much nicer! They still have paddle boats but, also paddle ducks! The picnic areas are plentiful and beautiful. Great walking paths and trails too. The trees have matured and offer plenty of shady areas. It has a gorgeous Garden area and beautiful rose. The grass was well kept and especially in the garden area.

Lovely tennis area and beautiful views all over including views to the adjacent golf course. I could go on and on. The bottom line is that this is a top notch park offering something for...

I visited the Colonial Park in Franklin Township Somerset on Memorial Day and had a great time grilling food there. The park is very clean, green, and well maintained. There are a lot of trees and a huge play area for kids. There is also a tennis court for those who want to play some sports. The park has public grills that are easy to use and convenient. I enjoyed grilling some delicious food and having a picnic with my family. The park is also very beautiful and peaceful. There are places to sit in quiet areas for couples who want to spend some quality intimate time. The park is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. I love this park and I will definitely come back again.
