I went is with a laptop with a broken backlight. I did everything to confirm that it was only the backlight and made sure everything else worked. I tired a few things and then decided that I should let a professional work on it. When I took it in, they told me that they could work on it and would send me an invoice. About a week later, they emailed me an invoice for an LCD screen. I contacted the number they gave me and told them the problem wasn't with the LCD because I had already confirmed it worked. They told me that this was the problem despite what I said, so I paid the ~$200 fee they asked for. Another week goes by and I get no contact from them. I go to them in-store and ask about my laptop. They tell me that the LCD "didn't work" and they would try some other things. A few days later, I get messaged that they want to try another cable for the screen. They also tell me it will be another $10. At this point I've paid over $200 and its been 3 weeks. I tell them that if they tried a different screen (that I said wasn't the problem) and it didn't work then that was their expense. They didn't reply and I went in-store to ask them again. They told me the cable would be there soon and then they could work on it. I got a text message another week later saying that the cable didn't work and that they would refund all but $20. I asked them if they had checked the fuses to see if they worked, to which they replied no. I asked them to do that because they can have faults on this model of laptop, and can be fixed by soldering over them. They told me very blatantly that they would not do it because it was "very likely to fail again" and that I should come pick up the laptop. When I picked up the laptop and opened it, I saw some of the keyboard had been damaged by a misplaced screw; an incredibly basic mistake.
Summary: Slow responses, don't listen to the customers, and refuse services they don't think they can do. 5 weeks and $20 later, I have a laptop in no better condition than it was in before. An unfortunately...
Read moreAbsolutely unbelievable. Quoted us “24- 48 at the latest” hours for repair. We had used them before to fix the phone and it took two hours. So I was a little bit surprised when they quoted me 24 hours. They had the part on hand yet. After not hearing anything for 48 hours, we stopped in again to see if it was completed without even looking up our number, the girl employee said it was not completed, but she had an iPad In her hand, and I assumed, she was about to work on it. We came back the next day to see if it was done- and a man said it would be done tomorrow evening at the latest. We came back the next day and it was not done. Every time we went to pick it up, it was not completed, but we also saw them watching shows on their phones and playing games on the computer and doing absolutely no work. After one week, We came to pick it up and it was still not completed so we took the item back. Do not go here! You’ll never get your items serviced. Absolute terrible service. I could see if they were swamped with jobs but they are not. They were sitting on their phones watching a show doing absolutely no work. And they wanted to charge me $140 for the repair....
Read moreI had an outstanding experience with Flux Computer Repair in Franklin. I built my own PC but it wouldn't post so I brought it to Flux to determine if the CPU or motherboard was bad. They were extremely thorough and even brought in parts from their personal PCs to test. The kept me up to date with the steps they were taking and what they were going to try next. It was looking like a bad motherboard and they were going to help with the RMA process even though I hadn't bought it through them. Before we got to that point they were able to flash the bios in a manner that let the system post with my CPU. They spent well over the time I would have expected for what they charged. Very impressed with their drive to find me a solution. Highly...
