Franklin State Forest — Attraction in Franklin

Quite a few years ago we were able to have a campfire at the Franklin State Forest off Summer St. near the camp with the Webelos as they were transitioning to Boy Scouts. It was wonderful and so peaceful. The whole setting meant a lot to the entire pack and their parents. The state's website describes the forest as "historic" and "undeveloped." There is nothing notably historic here, however, and it seems like an unremarkable area of typical MA woods (no old growth here). By "undeveloped" they mean there is no trail maintenance, and the trails are torn apart by dirt bikes (which are allowed and also disturb any tranquility of the forest). Nothing special...
