We were traveling from LI NY back to SC and stopped here to use the bathrooms. It was around 10 or 11 p.m. when we were here. Absolutely creepy 😳 and scary in the bathroom if your alone. Not sure if it's always this way, but I'm a woman, and at 52 yrs old I was completely freaked out when I went into the females bathroom. HEAT hit me in my face, no AC no air flow, no noise, completely silent and gigantic inside. Anyway I used the bathroom and the only thing that kept going through my mind was a psycho could be hiding in here just waiting to grab a female thats by herself. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I travel often and I don't scare easily, but yeah THIS IS A CREEPY PLACE as far as restrooms are concerned. It also didn't help that NOONE else was in there so that added to the weirdness of it. I'll try to never stop here again. 👍 I did take one picture...
Read moreThis was a fun place to stop and stretch the legs for a few minutes. This is no ordinary rest stop. There is a small museum/tourism shop (you know the ones with all the pamphlets... they had about a million), with an attendant that was very knowledgeable and helped guide me on my journey.
If you are looking to see lots of things about the Mason Dixon expediion or a sign of the line, this is not the place for you. What I mean is, if you are passing by, stop, but do not go out of your way to travel to this destination. There is a playground area as well as a dog walk area. You can also stop here to eat lunch outside at a picnic table or in your car. There is plenty of parking for cars, RV's and tractor trailers.
