Read Park has always been a Must-Visit growing up around here. It offers anything from some Relaxation, to visiting the pool...or even stopping down for a baseball game! They also offer a Skate Park, Tennis courts, Basketball Courts and a Volleyball Court over near the pool side of the Park! Highly recommend these nice little town parks...Usually very Peaceful!

A five star in Freeport, Illinois.. astonishing! My family has an annual picnic in Freeport.. either at Read Park or Krape Park. Both are wonderful!

It is a nice park, well maintained, but needs a larger security or police presence. The parking during baseball season and football practice beginning is insane! Simply attempting to drive north on Burchard Avenue between Empire and Ameirican is like navigating a mine-field! There are kids and adults who walk blindly into the road, and you have to keep a very close eye out for toddlers and preschoolers just wandering...

Overall, the pool is decent with a nice water slide, room for a decent amount of people, and nice sitting areas that are in the sun and some that are in shade. Honestly, I wrote a review that was like a paragraph long, and I accidentally deleted it cause i was looking for photos to attach, so I don't know really what to say since I don't really wanna type it all again😭. But if I'm serious, I would recommend you...

Now that I am in my 40's, the body is falling apart and it's been over 30 years since I last played baseball, I decided it was the right time to join an over 30 softball league.
