The waitress was extremely rude and it took her 15 minutes to even come to our table even though she wandered by multiple times. I had to repeat my order 3 times and she was the only one who apparently couldn’t understand me and even after writing it down still put it as the wrong food. The waitress was also very close to spilling hot soup on my husband and even though she missed his lap it got all over his Bluetooth headset and she just acted like it never happened. We also ordered food to take home to my dad and and upon arriving home and looking at it it wasn’t even close to what was ordered. Looks like they mixed some sort of slop together with some meet and gravy and threw it on a piece of bread. I’ve had some bad service before but this is the only time I’ve had service bad enough that it wasn’t worth a tip. The food is decent when they actually get it right but the service there is so terrible it’s not worth going and I won’t...

The Food was okay. The service was okay she seemed like she was in a rush. They seemed mad that a party of 7 walk in. I am not sure how this place got almost 5 stars. The food isn't worth 5 stars the food was salty and greasy. I guess people of Freeport think this is good food. The young man who helped us at the end kept telling us coffee was bad for us? Don't like people don't work up front. We just suggested that they need better coffee. I will never go there again. I would travel outside of Freeport to find a good place to eat. I mean 55.00 for 7 people isn't bad, but I would rather pay for Good food and for and good service. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AT THIS PLACE. I didn't feel safe using the bathroom. I wouldn't suggest anyone to...

This restaurant is superior to even your 5 Michelin star restaurants. The food was great for comfort fare. The wait staff was polite and prompt. The employees were constantly cleaning the area as patrons left. They were not only cleaning the tables they were also cleaning off the booth seats, chairs, between the cracks where cushions came together, backs of chairs where patrons grabbed to move them, etc. I wish more restaurants had employees who did this rather than customers sitting ing food, coffee or syrup from others. Bravo... wish a higher score could be given and health attentiveness. Keep up the...

We finally found a day/time the new location's parking lot wasn't packed full. We were greeted as we came in the door and seated ourselves. We had the Fried Cod and the Fish & Shrimp Combo Dinners. The amount of food for price is exceptional! In addition to the main dinner entree, you get choice of soup, salad, choice of potato, a vegetable, garlic toast, and even ice cream for dessert! So much food and the prices are so reasonable. The inside of the new location has been opened up, it looks fresh and clean. Service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Glad to have Family Affair back as a breakfast spot. I knew when they were in their place on Galena that they could be as big as they wanted and stay full. New location is just that. I did hear other guests commenting on it feeling too open and not enough booths. We were comfortable though. I had to try their chicken breakfast skillet. Plenty for the money. I do wish though that restaurants would season the hashbrowns as they cook. Otherwise really good and great family story as well.

It's been a long time since I've been to the Family Affair Restaurant in Freeport, Illinois. Whenever I am home I try to visit a local venue. Their skillets are amazing. The supreme skillet has always been my goto choice. This time I got it with the chorizo which gave it the perfect seasoning! 2 skillets with a choice of pancake/crepe/toast and 2 coffee was just under 20 dollars. The curb appeal still gives carries a bit the former Long John Silver's vibe then it ends there.
