Culver’s — Restaurant in Freeport

Kaitlyn, shift leader, could use some remedial customer service training. Went thru drive thru ordered 2 scoop flavor of day(caramel cashew) and 2 scoop banana hot fudge. Was 2nd in wait line, but didnt get ours until 3 mins after other 4 vehs left that had been waiting. Gave us 2 scoop choc-(wrong) and banana one was ok. Had to go inside! Asked for my receipt.... cannot give you what you never gave me! Kaitlyn was very confrontational about the mistake, takes wrong sundae and throws it across into a trash can. Gives explanation that order was put in wrong. Soo you already knew it was wrong which also explains our extra long wait; they obviously had some inside issues. She angrily makes my corrected sundae, pouring and absurd amount of cashews on it. So much that they were falling off as I went out door. Did not apolgize, did not thank me, I got that look that says.. its almost closing time take your order and go! Kaitlyn customer service 101, if you're having a bad night.... a customer should never know it! Point being... No Apology for error or my long wait or having to come inside. No Customer Service to Simply ask to just let them correct for me. I can buy expensive ice cream anywhere! Better yet 2 places up the street have good frozen treats and half the price, if not less. Ice cream shouldn't cause a customer stress! P.S. I was a previous 5☆ satisfied...

April 3rd, 2025, ~12:30 PM (CST). First time at this specific location. We got a couple of burgers, a grilled chicken sandwich, and two concrete mixers. It was also the birthday for one of their employees. (Happy birthday Shannon!)

Food: for a fast food joint, food is pretty good. If you've ever been to a Culver's, the food is what you would expect. Their sandwiches are competent, though they are certainly not novel or mind-blowing. Their crinkle cut fries and cheese curds are good while fresh, and their biggest draw is definitely their custard.

Service: good. Employees were friendly, chatted us up, and were generally pleasant. Our order arrived promptly, all items were as expected, and the food was cooked properly.

Atmosphere: not too busy, and the place was fairly clean. The music was also at an acceptable volume (i.e., you could listen to it if you wanted, but it was not loud enough to inhibit conversation). The smaller square tables in the center of the restaurant need some padding so they stop sliding across the tile. UPDATE 8/13/23 👀 again, order is never right. no ketchup on the sandwich, so it was dry lol and then… only 2 pickles on the sandwich? now i know we’re in a depression but that meal is already 8.99 and i only get 2 pickles. 😂 what the heck. and yeah parts of my burger were cold and the pickle was hard.

Every time we come here, our order isnt ever right. That doesnt mean its not good, though. We enjoy food from culvers. But everytime we order a sourdough melt with no onions, theres always onions. I always ask for condiments to be put on top of the burger, not on the bottom bun and its always on the bottom. The only reason why I request for the condiments to be on top is because the bottom bun gets so soggy that the stuff falls out. I will always ask for extra pickles, never get it.
