This was our family’s first tree ropes course (we had done a course on a cruise ship previously). We did the 2 hour Ropes session which included ZipQuest. We were able to get through most of the courses available in this 2 hour time and also the ZipQuest.
For the ropes courses, there is 1 Yellow (easy), 2 Green (Intermediate), 1 Blue (Difficult), 1 Black (More Difficult). You had to finish the yellow course to graduate to green, the green course to graduate to blue, blue to graduate to black. However, if you wanted to do yellow the whole time, you could. Each ropes course had small zip lines included, which we enjoyed. Plenty of heights on most of the courses, but especially on the blue/black courses.
On a crowded day, I imagine waiting for other visitors to complete a course in front of you might be frustrating. Our visit was not very crowded and we generally did what we wanted to do (although, there was a slower fsmily holding things up on occasion).
Blue and black have a few elements that are pretty challenging (tamer ninja warrior vertical climbs and a few crossings that required plenty of upper body strength / coordination to complete). Blue and black both also have a auto-belay drop in order to get down/ finish (black actually uses a Free Fall auto belay that is supposed to give you a free fall sensation — that is the only way down). Blue has a trapeze-like crossing that actually is not as bad is looks.
The ZipQuest had 9 zip lines in it aling with some ladders to climb. Glad it was included in the price of the Ropes Course — it was a nice included add-on that finished off our day.
We did not purchase the Zip Racer add on or the Tree Climb add-on. The Zip Racer looked like a long ride, but we had plenty of zip lining included already. The tree climb did not look too challenging, but I think kids would enjoy this more.
Overall, definitely lots of fun. Would visit again. Staff was friendly and encouraging (they convinced me I should try the black course and I am glad I did it). They also helped talk me through some of the most challenging elements of the...
Read moreSpent the weekend of August 18th in the Poconos and was looking forward to doing the zip line at night. Was so looking forward to doing this that I actually paid for an extra run and did none!!! Unfortunately it didn't appear the staff really wanted to work that night. It was the one activity we chose to do and they ruined it for us!!! They were aloof and seemed unconcerned that the harness was loosening with every movement. Their response was "It'll be more comfortable when you sit." When I sit???? Really??? We felt like we'd fall out of the harness. Not to mention the poorly lit walkways that supposedly one of them went back to get a flashlight for but did nothing to light our way. They never even turned on the flashlight. We did not feel safe doing the zip line with the staff that was present. They were more interested in conversing with each other than interacting with us, the customer. No verbal instructions were given, no interaction other than to say "stand here" or "turn around" or whatever else have you. I am extremely angry and upset that this company took my money and did nothing for us when we expressed how upset we were with the so called guides. We told them at the platform that we were not feeling very comfortable they way things were being handled. They could care less and seemed annoyed. We felt forced to abandon our run and find our way back to the harnessing area. Yes, by ourselves since our guides decided they'd go zip lining instead. Professionalism and courtesy at its best ...... not...
Read morePocono Treeventures was a fun time. Great military discount. I wish I was able to give 5 stars, as a first timer a little more direction would have been helpful. The website stated open at 10am but did not open till 11. They said time was changed on website, everyone but the facility saw it opened at 10am. We had to wait a long time. One lady that was cleaning, brought the waivers out she was not polite and didnt supply pens. Then the manager came and was very hands-on, greeting people helping with guiding them what to do. It seemed that all the staff were extremely nice except that one older lady. Safety training was a little fast and could have used a little more detail. More people needed to help at the practice courses. But the girl was amazing. Stationed there. Once we started the staff continued to be fabulous and all of the sudden we were on our own. My daughter got stuck on a zipline and I called for help because no one was around when out of nowhere Joshua appeared. He was very polite and continued to stay with us throughout the course to make sure we were ok. Never once did I feel he wasnt letting us get the experience only helped when needed. He was truly great to have there for direction. As we left the manager was again greeting us as asked about our time. We ultimately we had a great time. I think that there could have been more direction throughout the course but we found Joshua, a strong young man who took care of us and made us feel at ease....
