PLEASE READ THE 1-STAR REVIEWS. I WISH I DID. I wasted 6 months and a whole semester dealing with this guy, and my laptop still came back broken: January–February Repair Attempt: I brought in my Dell G15 for a simple fan replacement and hinge fix. This is what actually happened: Snapped my Wi-Fi cable during repair; Promised to replace it — never did; Claimed to fix the hinge — in reality, just glued it instead of replacing the missing screw; Took weeks to return it, but I finally got it back in early March and he seemed to have fixed the fan. Two weeks later: Hinge breaks again; Screen shorts out April–May "Warranty Fix" He agrees to fix the hinge and screen “under warranty” — but since it was free of charge, he clearly didn't care: He ignored my laptop for weeks Never picked up the phone; When I visited in person(early May), he said he’d “just gotten the replacement display cable” and would install it on the spot → 3 hours later: screen still doesn’t work; Promises to “troubleshoot it next week” but then ghosts me again; In the end I picked up the laptop from him as I was moving out as I figured I could probably do a better and faster job. What I Found When I Opened It: My back case has some weird glue on it; All factory screws missing — replaced with random junk screws; Several internal components left unscrewed; Hinge still missing the original screw — so he never fixed it; Display cable never replaced, despite him claiming it was; Wi-Fi cable still broken, from his damage back in January. This guy is a joke. Lied about everything, ignored warranty work, and treated my laptop like scrap. I got more done in a single afternoon than he did in 6 months. Avoid this place. You’re better off fixing it yourself than trusting Brian with anything more complicated than a phone case.

LISTEN TO THE ONE STAR REVIEWS. My nephew took his laptop here to get some diagnostics done on his laptop for some display issues he was having. These guys kept saying they could check it out for free, then told him it was $40 if he doesn’t let them repair it. My nephew is 16 and they scammed him fully knowing what they were doing. I took the laptop that they supposedly did work on and once I opened it up found a bunch of things wrong. To start, they literally stripped all the screws on the bottom lid of the laptop and pulled the rubber liners off when it wasn’t needed. Half of the battery screws are missing, and the other half were literally undone just roaming around in the case. To top it off, I found three ribbons not even secured and just hanging out. They even tore the inside materials up - it’s like they sabotaged the internals on purpose. I STRONGLY recommend not taking your PC here.

I have come here 4th time in the past and today is the 5th time I have come here. Very trustworthy and best in the computer tech business. 1. Extremely knwoledagble: Based on my interactions with him on various types of computers and laptops....and different topics, I can safely say he knows all kinds of models , different components etc. I myself have background on electronics and computers....and go to him for his best advice. 2. Owner understand the needs of the customer. Most importantly, he is aware that there are other options for customer and how he can give better options in providing best offer in terms of quality of service, components, pricing or service, 3. You can buy pretty much anything around computers,..say memory extensions, cpu, GPU chnage, data recovery, chassis issue.....that tells you the breadth of thingsthat are possible I recommend him without any reservations.

At the risk of being called names by the owner, I’m going to continue writing this. I feel folks need to read this.

I went in for a laptop screen replacement and after haggling for the price for quite sometime, the owner said he needed some time to source the part from another laptop; I wasn’t in a hurry so I agreed.

Two weeks later, I checked in with the owner and he said to show up the next day. As discussed we went over ... outside the store a lady flagged us down and asked how our experience was with this store and proceeded to tell us that she’s been doing the back and forth run for about 5 months. This was our first red flag! So anyway we went in and got the laptop. Few issues we noticed immediately:

The top cover was dented. The brightness control was totally gone. You had to have the screen at max brightness to be able to see things...

So we exchanged a few colorful words with the owner where he pointed out that we could keep our broken screen and that we shouldn’t have expectations of a brand new screen considering what we paid for ($360 for a used screen!) and that the laptop was over 7 years old. He slammed the screen shut in front of us and made everyone uncomfortable in the store. While we were walking out, he re-engaged us and vociferously argued that he was correct and nothing was wrong with the screen. That was a scary moment and we just hoped that we'd see our laptop again and walked away.

We opted to get the broken screen installed again and try elsewhere.

Again the owner decided to be very clumsy with timing and kept bumping us off from one appointment to another. Side note: no one’s time is important except for his so be warned if you have any time sensitive issues. We were in a limbo all weekend. Repeated attempts at calling him were futile. We finally decided to go the following business day and literally camp out until we got the laptop back.

We got the laptop two days later with the broken screen; so back to square one.

We ended up going to an authorized repair center and we got a brand new screen for about another $80. It just worked and came with some assurances! Equally importantly the repair was done in under three days.

Moral of the story: respect your time and go to a better place. Know exactly what you pay for and don’t be afraid to get a quote from an authorized retailer... you never know it might be worth it. As for this store, needless to say, this would be the first and last time we consider stepping foot in...

Very Rude...This guy is very rude, dishonest and inhuman.

I had an issue with my charging jack and key board(hardware costs 10+35 =$45). I went to computer world and asked for estimate, the owner said he needs time to give estimate and he said he will call me and tell me the estimate(I know that this is a business trick he is following, once you give your laptop, generally you will go ahead with repair).

Next day at 12:15 pm he called me and gave me an estimate of $200($45 parts cost and $145 labor charges). I said I don't want to get it repaired and I will pick up my laptop later. Then he said "I can only give your laptop within 30 mins otherwise you should wait for my next call". I said I might need some time and I will be there by 1:30 PM. Somehow I managed to go there by 12:45 PM. When I went to computer world the owner was free and has no customers. When I asked to return my laptop he denied to given back my laptop and asked me to come back at 1:30. After Little argument I realized that he is VERY RUDE..and will stoop to any level for money. I waited for 45 minutes in parking and picked my laptop at 1:30. It hardly took 30 seconds for him to return, but he made me wait for 45 minutes in this tough time of COVID 19.

So be careful with guys like these who are very inhuman and will stoop to any level for money. During these tough times of COVID he argued and made me waited for 45 minutes to just return my laptop which is hardly 30 seconds job.

Updated review after Brian's reply: What a fabricated story you are saying, For charging jack and keyboard does anyone take his old laptop to India and get it repaired....Awesome joke.

How many lies do you say..

  1. I was wearing Mask and you were saying I dint, can you prove by posting image from surveillance camera?
  2. I never said I wanted it to repair in India(Its a made up story) 3)You dint even touch my laptop and you are saying you assembled my laptop..great joke

Try to provide better service but don't do these...

Don't judge the book by its cover. Reviews definitely help, but they can't give you the insight that you truly get by experiencing something yourself. I have always been a fan of big and well known companies, but the recent experiences I had with small businesses twisted a lot of things around. Few months ago, I went to fry's electronic to clean my computer, install protection, purchase a portable external hard drive, and do a few other small things. Out the door, everything cost me nearly $400. The laptop I had was kind of broken and I was afraid my hard drive will fail; therefore, the need for an external one. So I transfer all my data, each and everything to the new hard drive: thousands of pictures, very important documents including statements for medical school admission, recommendation letters by professors, all kind of notes I have had from the 4.5 years of my undergrad so pretty much all my life. It wasn't until 3 months after that the hard drive completely went dead. I went to Fry's. They said it will be a couple hundred to recover the data and if they were unable to, they would have to send it elsewhere to recover all the data which might cost me up to $2000.

As frustrated as I was there, I had no any other option, but to either spend that much money or give up. Someone in the store recommended me this place: Computer World Fremont branch in Fremont, CA. At first, I was hesitant, but then I gave it a try. The two men there were very nice and professional. Very competent and knowledgeable in the area of their expertise, they understood everything I said and the position I was in. They recovered all the data and stored it on a loaner hard drive. I was successfully able to transfer everything back to my personal laptop. All this was for $120. Very pleased with their service and I highly recommend it. I am very thankful to the exceptional customer service...
