Always enjoyable time visiting this park. Since this California area is getting more expensive with higher prices, Woodward Park is a great idea to spend the day. It's getting busier here. Many places to picnic and have family walks. Bicycle riders have plenty places to ride trails especially up by the river and back. Ive noticed that the grass is slowly starting to fade some in areas and more visitor vehicles are starting to park up on the small hills at the gazebos shelters for parties. There is plenty of parking all around the park though. It's so fun to have parties though plenty of tables. Some of the sheltered tables have playgrounds near them for the kids. Bring bread because there's always birds geese and ducks around and they always ready for visitors to feed them. One of the ponds there's also family and friends fishing for the day, to be honest I had no idea if the park workers put fish in there. Maybe there are some. Anyway there's lots activities going on at Woodward Park. Sometimes when I was behind a pack of vehicles and we were ready to leave the park, waiting for the signal to change, I think there may be drinking going on in the Park because one or two 4 door cars kept driving really slow even while on Friant street and other vehicles behind them would honk like please choose a lane so they could get up to a normal safe speed while other cars flowed with Us. Other than that its...
Read moreThe dog park is great! Awesome place for my pup to run and around and be social. The worst part of my experience was a lady that stated she worked there. As soon as I stepped in the gate with my dog she approached us and asked how old the dog was and if she had her shots. I told her 5 months and “of course”. She then abruptly asked if my dog was licensed with the city of Fresno to which I said no, we are visiting from out of state. She then told me there is $160 fee if the dog is unlicensed but I should be fine if I’m just visiting. This lady appeared to have about 7 large dogs with her, 2 of which were aggressive and she had very little to no control or concern of. I finally took my dog to the smaller empty dog park and as I was leaving the lady had the nerve to tell me that I should wear “dog park clothes” instead of what I had on???? At one point I witnessed her leave the enclosure (without any of her dogs) to flag down a police officer to tell him there were unlicensed dogs in the park. Truly, every other person there was kind, respectful, had dogs that just wanted to interact and play with other dogs and people. The only dogs that bit at and caused other dogs to whine or cry were her dogs. I don’t know how she got this “job”, but she’s...
Read moreWe went to this park so that I can continue to be active and go for a walk. 1 hour of activity. There was a trail that he insisted we walk on. I was perfectly fine maneuvering through the park past the playgrounds and people. There's quite a bit of stuff to see at this park. Throughout the park there are many benches and other items dedicated to people in their memory. There are wooden statues of bears. A little area where someone can perform there's concrete benches with tiles that anyone in the town can create a very pretty tile to add to the seated area. I'm sure this place is much more greener than it is today. I would love to see the park in the Spring and Summer. I had a great experience and a wonderful walk. There were people jogging on the trail, people walking their dogs, people riding their bikes, people on dirt bikes practicing stunts on the hill areas of the park. Lots of squirrels, and birds. It was a cool sunny day and I took plenty of pictures. Children were playing at the playground. People were gathered at the tables for parties, bbqs, and picnics, eating food and enjoying the outdoors. It's a very nice...
