Lynn's Cake, Candy, & Chocolate Supplies — Attraction in Fridley

I have shopped at Lynn's before and have always had good service with friendly staff. My last purchase was for 2 lbs of Mercks white chocolate so I could make some home made almond bark for the holidays. I used one pound to make some for Thanksgiving and when we tried it there was an off flavor that others said tasted like plastic. I called Lynn's to talk to them about it and told them how I made it and they said it was correct and that they had not had any other complaints on the chocolate or heard anything from the manufacturer but they took my number and told me they would check it out and get back to me and also let me know to stop in if I was out and around. Later in the day I stopped by with some of the almond bark that I made along with the extra pound that I still had which to my family also had the same bad flavor.

I talked with Lynn who tasted it but could not taste the same bad flavor that we were experiencing. She did say that even though they did not taste it that everyone has different tastes and if I did not like it they would replace it. They let me sample some of the chocolate they had in the back room to make sure there was not the same bad flavor and replaced my 2 labs of chocolate. They also said they would be checking with the manufacturer to make sure there were no issues with the batch as they did not want this to be an issue with other customers. Before I left we discussed making almond bark and what I could do to make it even better. I bought a couple more things went home and made a new batch and it was the best one I have made to this day.

I was looking for what allegedly ( in my city 🙄😬🙄 ) has become a rare candy making item. My city’s candy and cake shops were disappointing so my google and internet search began . After two days of searching I came across Lynn’s on the internet. I sent an email asking about the product I was looking for because after a few days I was TIRED of looking through website after website after website through literally hundreds and hundreds or items just to be disappointed . So instead of searching their site I went for the kill and asked directly . Tom wrote me back immediately and that was impressive since it was ridiculously late at night . He was polite and prompt and assured me he could help me either online or via phone . I was ELATED. Finally I could continue my candy making . As my items were missing and I was stuck and needed these to continue. I placed my order online , I received a call the next day from Sara(h) and spoke with Tom that day as well. They had my order packed and ready to ship BEFORE I was even out of bed ! That’s service . Tom was polite helpful and went above and beyond for me . I’m super sad this store isn’t local to me , I’d love to be able to call this my local store . Lynn’s Cake & Candy Supplies is a hidden gem located just North of Minneapolis off of University Avenue. The location is great for anyone located North, East, South or West of the Twin Cities.

With a lot of free time this Summer, I’m teaching myself how to bake and create a variety of cakes. Upon walking into the store I was amazed by the variety of products. They had almost everything I needed. The one product (revolving cake stand) was out of stock but the owners took my name and phone number and said they would call when their next shipment arrived. The owners also had a lot of knowledge about the brands they carried!
