Prices seem very high for not a lot of treat. About 10oz of malt for 7.50, 2 scoops of ice cream and I am telling you they were NOT generous with the scoops for another 7.50. I left with my craving unsatisfied and my wallet $20.00 shorter then when I came in. Hope they reconsider portion sizes. More than likely I may not come back.
Edit: I appreciate your response, but there was no way I could fit a 12oz can of pop in that cup in that picture and the ice cream scoops were literally the size of the tiny scoops they used to get the ice cream out it was almost like they we re e using them as measuring spoons to add ingredients to a sensitive recipe, some would say these scoops were "anemic". Fix the portion size..... I knew I should have taken the picture before but I was struggling with my thoughts and if I was having unrealistic expectations of how much product I should have recieved. The more I thought the more I realize your portions suck... raise your price a dollar more, fill my "16oz" cup give me the old fashion tin with some left over in it, cram full that cup with two gobs of ice cream.... for God sakes your name is GRANDPAS ICE CREAM not Ebenezer Scrooge Ice cream. I feel your not listening to your customers read your reviews, kids adult, all patrons are saying they are leaving with a void of just not enough snack.... If you were my grandpa I would not want to visit your house I would go to my other...

Atmosphere? Meh. Ice cream? Good quality. Flavors? We tried two. Meh. Prices? 😳 For those prices, you better be un-meh.
(Salted caramel flavor was subtle, decent, but tasted KIND of fakey. Then the Coffee-Cookie scoop wasn't very coffee-ish at ALL. It tasted like they had simply taken the same "base" as the caramel, just added a couple glugs of artificial coffee flavoring and called it good. We've had quite a few other coffee ice creams with much more robust, real, and satisfying flavors that bring us back.
These flavors and these prices and the atmosphere would NOT bring us back. We had high hopes. We wish for them a few flavor-upgrades, a more inviting & interesting "Grandpa-y" space, and some price modifications, and wish them luck! Great to see local shops. I want them to succeed.
Went back and forth between 2 stars or 3. Quality of cone & ice cream itself say 3. But price and...
Read moreWe read an article about this place so decided to venture to Fridley to try it out. It was good, always happy to support a local business. Lots of variety, but the icecream had a been too long in the freezer taste. We had the salted caramel, maple nut and salted almond. All very good. The Staff are all very young and although super friendly, we felt pressured to choose rapidly to give them something to do, they practically followed you from one cooler to the next, so overly staffed and anxious to serve. Really nice Kids though with an excellent work ethic! I would stop again if in the area, but would not make a trip expecially just to go there. Almost $12 for two cones plus tip. Too bad they are not in a more central location, they would get alot more business, its quite tucked away. Best of luck to them, they have...
