We visited this museum in early May, 2023. It was a nice museum with a nice collection. They had mining and railroad memorabilia. That included a small locomotive and caboose. And tower controlled semaphore signal and other railroad items. They had lots of other items including cars and even a military tank. It was a surprise how wide reaching their collection was. Definitely worth the stop.

This is another stop on Route 66 that you have to visit. The mining museum gives a history of how the town grew and prospered along with Route 66. It was a lead mining town which is fascinating in itself for the fact that lead is such an important yet dangerous material.

This is a very neat museum tucked away in an old mining town in the SE corner of Kansas. There are many neat railroad-related exhibits (even an old locomotive that you can see inside) and lots of cool rocks and minerals to see. These are some of my favorites.

Neat little hometown museum. Actually it's bigger than it appears on the outside. An historic train station that was moved to be right on historic route 66, this free museum is definitely worth a stop. The docent was very friendly.

We came on Sunday. unfortunately, it was closed on the weekends. I hope they consider opening on weekends when more families can come to visit this place.
