Have gone 4 times.
First time bought me a knife from one of the vendors and I tried some food. Most of the time I just talked with vendors and looked at the Art or jewelry.
I have gone back 3 times. You will see regulars there and sometimes they have their specific spots.
This time around I ate some tacos and tried the Fry Bread. Both where really good. I bought some prints and had a good conversation with the vendor got some history on the Zuni Culture. Prints are Edward's copyright.
I also bought some kettle corn as that is one of my favorite snack or go to snack. Pictures below. Of items I picked up this go around.
As others have posted. It gets packed, its windy, now there is more parking with them knocking down buildings on the lot next to the flea market. With this there is lots of sand flying everywhere when the wind picks up. Go to restroom...
Read moreIt was Christmas Eve and it was windy and drizzly. I debated on whether or not i should go to try and sell my baled goods. If I didn't itvwould became wasted day. I went not knowing what to expect. The site as i drove up was bleak. There wasn't many vendors bit there was some crazy enough to get out and sell their goods. I can say it was a sight that i will never forget! People were ACTUALLY getting out to walk and then more people were starting to drive through!!! It was actually a very fun and different experience! Read moreThe jewelry is pretty mundain. Not bad but mostly glass and plastic beads, and turquoise. The market is set up lengthwise - not in the round like the Window Rock Market - and so it is very tiring to try to cover all the stalls in one day. However, it gives vendors a chance to sell their wares. There are probably at least 1000 vehicles parked there at any one time. Therefore on Saturday, if you usually drive 9th St. to avoid traffic on 491, it is easier to go by 491 on that one day. People are always darting in and out of the market making for hazardous driving...
