We came across this restaurant while passing through Gallup on our trip. Later, we realized that this Chinese restaurant and the sushi place next door were actually connected inside, possibly owned by the same person.
We arrived on a weekday evening, slightly later than the usual dinner time. Besides us, there was only one other group of customers, who seemed to have been there for a while. At first, the staff appeared to be in a meeting, so no one greeted us. We seated ourselves, and after a moment, a server came over to assist us.
He was very nice. After a long day of driving, we were exhausted and took our time looking at the menu, but he remained patient the entire time. He even kindly refilled our personal water bottles with hot water for free. His attitude was consistently polite and welcoming.
I ordered a bowl of shrimp miso ramen. To be honest, the taste was quite average—not particularly delicious. The shrimp was a bit overcooked, and the noodles felt slightly undercooked and not fully loosened. But at that moment, I just wanted a hot bowl of noodle soup, so I didn’t have high expectations.
What really stood out to me was the service. Even though we only ordered one bowl of ramen, the server remained exceptionally courteous from start to finish. He never showed any impatience or mentioned a minimum charge per person. Instead, he even brought us an extra empty bowl so we could share the noodles more easily. When we were about to leave, I almost forgot my water bottle, but the server ran after me to return it. I was so grateful!
I highly recommend this place for its outstanding service—it truly exceeded my...
Read moreHonestly? I grew up eating at king dragon, and after the ownership change I REALLY tried to keep an open mind 😞😒 but the new owners? A word of advice I get your trying to make the place your own but you quite literally shouldn’t. There are people who can make a previously owned place their own, but PLEASE go back to the original 😒 new food choices? I always see them full for a reason. And I’m really not trying to be harsh, so I am sorry, but PLEASE go back to what it was! The original recipes and soup bowls and soup spoons all brought genuine Chinese cuisine vibes. Don’t buy a Chinese restaurant and go buying cheap plastic crap that doesn’t even clean well. I found 3 spoons in one meal seating that were gross! Please get a hold of reality, I get your trying to make cost cuts but what you’re doing is NOT IT. Spending more money trying to make different dishes when you could just spend it on what originally worked and built the customer fan base in the first place is where you would get more customers and keep loyal ones too. Please don’t make this beautiful delicious place become some cheap run of the mill crappy Chinese food place, cuz all these years it was NEVER that...
Read moreDoes anyone remember when they were located at the Plaza where big lots and subway are at (off of Jefferson Ave.)?
The original owner here did great, at the old Plaza. I remember the owners would always greet and thank the tables. The food was so delicious. Off the menu and on the menu. The buffet, omg, was always good.
Idk if this spot off of 491 is under new management. But I think they will eventually prepare food as it was in the past. I hope.
My items: noodles (spaghetti noodles) and rice noodles. The fried rice had no eggs, corn or peas and was not fried. Soy sauce was just added, it was super salty.
The food was not hot. It was luke warm.
I got fried goods and it wasn't great. The egg roll was cold. The sticky pot was very hard. The whole fried area was either left there all day and or over cooked to where the meat was very burnt inside.
Egg drop soup was good.
Overall, I was disappointed with my meal. It was not worth the price. I thought of panda express. But they don't have egg drop soup and, rice noodles. Bu they have good management and a good team.
I wish you...
