This is the second time I’ve been back to this restaurant since it was taken over by new ownership and renamed. I can say that this time was worse than the first time. The chef is lazy and unprofessional. Definitely not good for a business. Went to get a simple order of tempura and two California rolls to go because my wife is at home with our sick baby. They said it would be 20 minutes. Ended up being near 40 minutes. The chef told the staff and management to come and let me know that he needed to do the dine in orders before a takeout order even though my order came in first. I’ve never had that experience in any other restaurants that I’ve ordered to go. Especially when I Come in and order my to go order. The place was not busy. Then they proceeded to not even get my order right instead of giving me an order of tempura they gave me a tempura role. I definitely wouldn’t recommend ordering to go from this restaurant which would take away a lot of their business because not all of us have the time our ability to eat in, but you think our money would be welcome anyways. It should never take 40 minutes To make two California rolls and an order of tempura. And you should never be told that your order is going to be made last because you’re...
Read moreI've given it 3 different tries over the years and it's just terrible. Im one of those non-picky sushi eaters who will eat even the worst buffet sushi, and have, all over the country, I've gorged myself with all you can eat for $5 in places you'd never expect sushi - like Denver and Phoenix, and loved it. Yeah they were bad, but even bad sushi is good sushi. Quick lesson to the owners: Sushi is defined by its seasoned, vinegared rice. Zen sushi does not season the rice, therefor, technically, it's not sushi to begin with. It's like eating mushy water balls with some cold fish slapped on top, and then charging you $70 for the mouth-assult. Given how mush the rice always is I'm not even convinced it's the right kind of rice. But then, what do you expect from a restaurant, who's sister and neighbor passes off spaghetti noodles as lo-mien. As someone who likes even bad Japanese food.... I don't even know what to...
Read moreThis was my first time dining here since I’ve been craving ramen ever since moving to this place. I ordered the miso ramen, not exactly my usual taste or standard, but still really good! The gyoza was your typical kind, but tasty. I also tried the Viking Roll and absolutely loved it, great balance of flavors.
My dad got the Hawaiian BBQ Mix, and we were impressed by the generous serving. He said it was good, though the beef was a bit tough to chew. I also ordered a Thai tea; it tasted a bit watered down and not very homemade, but still refreshing.
The place itself was quiet with a nice vibe, not crowded at all when we visited. Our food came out in about 20–25 minutes. There was only one server that time, but he still did a really great job. Bonus… the Dragon Plaza view during sunset is beautiful and so relaxing! We left full and satisfied, enjoying both the food...
