Crystal Beach — Attraction in Galveston

**This review is based on a Saturday night camp out. First, let me ask what is your purpose for this beach? Day use? We enjoyed it, it was clean and pretty. Really crowded but all the beaches we've been to in Galveston has been at this time of year. Yes, there were "flaggers" as other reviewers mentioned, but we didn't find them overwhelming or in over abundance. Ice cream truck and couple kite/flag sellers drive through semi-regularly.

For shell hunting--zero. Unless you are looking for chips or very small shells(thumbnail sized). You won't find any here. We searched in the middle of the night and early morning too.

So now, over night use. Our section of the beach when all the crowds left had about 6 camping groups. By 10 p.m. IN THIS SECTION all were quiet. But there were people driving up and down the lengths of the beach blasting music and yelling until 1 a.m. 200 yards away was a bunch of campers who had large speakers blasting rave music and yelling and carrying on as of right now, at 2 a.m.!!!! The bass is literally shaking our (truck) rooftop tent. Overnight use, no, I do not like Crystal Beach and would not return at least on a weekend or maybe at all. I wish nighttime beach patrol was a thing and a noise ordinance enforced (yes I feel like THAT person right now!).

*The partying from this group NEVER STOPPED! we got up at 5:50 a.m.and the rave music, laughing and yelling was still going on. 😑
