We have been fishing here since the pond first opened. It's great for kids and if you are a fishing junkie and don't care where you fish as long as your line is in the water. They keep it well stocked with trout. There are bigger ones in there but you just have to be lucky or know how to catch them. My boy has caught a 18 inch trout out of here. He was 7 so he was pretty excited. Over the years the banks have started to bee over run by weeds and at times can be difficult to find a good spot if there are already a few people here. The first 5 feet of the water in places has gotten a lot of moss. If you sink your bate to far you have a good chance of getting a snag. I used to like bringing my boys fishing here because it was a good spot for them to learn how to fish without me spending to much time untangling line. It's still a great pond. It just needs...

The Park was very fun to visit but the grounds were very muddy and wet. It looked like they were improving the parking, but it was not ideal for little ones. The pond and the park were great and I will definitely check back to see if it has improved next time in nearby! Note, fishing permit required for ages 12+.

Update (April 2018): the mud situation is much improved. Would definitely come again for a fun walk around the pond and swinging. The huge log is a fun addition...

I love to cast few lures here when I visit Bear Lake but the past few visits have seen this great little pond increasing choked with weeds. This trip the water near the shore was littered with bobbers that had been broken off in the weeds. Nearly every cast results in a harvest of weeds. Without some very proactive management it seems like this pond will be completely choked by next year. Not good for the anglers and likely worse for the fish as they...

We fished here for an activity as part of our family reunion. All of the kids had a chance to catch a fish, many of them for the first time. The paved path was fun for younger kids to ride scooters on when their attention for fishing ended. The park entertained as well. The pickleball courts are nice. We brought camp chairs and sport umbrellas for sun relief. Worms and spinners worked well for bait.

It's cool that they built a pond here, but it's nasty. We found at least 40 dead fish just sitting at the edge of the pond. The whole area was swampy throughout the grass. Nobody cleans up after themselves (that's a people problem, I know.) really it's just poorly kept.
