This review is coming from a graduated student. I was enrolled in Ca of B from September 2024 through April 2025. I am happy to say I absolutely loved my time here! The staff were phenomenal. They were respectful, helpful, knowledgeable, nice, caring, and prepped you not only for state board, but for life in the salon. The education was excellent. I chose this school over Paul Mitchell and am happy I did. This is because Paul Mitchell is limited in the products and techniques they teach, whereas here we learn and become certified in Brazilian Blowouts, Japanese straightening, and Sassoon cutting and color. This school also offers an externship program while PM does not. Through the externship program I was able to extern for the Instagram-famous Carlos Atila in Hollywood! This school also offers job assistance and resume prep, even after youāve graduated. They also offer the option to graduate with a cosmetology and barber certification at 1200 hours combined rather than 1600 hours separately. The students were great as well. Most everyone was very nice and respectful. There were also fun competitions and celebrations. They have a beauty bucks program for services and products as well. The beauty bucks are rewarded for perfect attendance, winning competitions, etc. I am now assisting in a high end salon where all of the other assistants are from PM. I can honestly say that most of my classmates in school were quite a bit more knowledgeable than my current co-assistants. Wherever you decide to go to school is up to you, but do not sleep on this school! Come check it out! For people interested in receiving services, this school uses high end products but the services performed are very cheap, especially compared to the salon. I know wherever Iām at in my cosmo journey, I can stop by Ca of B, have a chat, work on my resume, ask for help, receive a service and more! Thank you Ca of B for being a great school while I was attending, and even now that Iām graduated and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you do nothing else in your quest for hair perfection, make it to CAB Career Academy Beauty. The experience is nothing short of miraculous. I walked in with hair that could only be described as a crime sceneābleached blonde, 4-5 inches of grown-out roots, and a level of chaos that had me considering hats as a permanent solution. But the moment I sat in Yaniās chair, surrounded by her incredible helpers, Summer and Natalia, I knew I was in the hands of greatness. Coach Tina, the veteran hair guru, and Coach Ashley, the angelic blonde hair whisperer, floated into the scene like divine beings armed with bleach bowls and a color wheel that could have been forged by the gods themselves. They assessed my hair like scientists on the verge of a groundbreaking discovery. The process was nothing short of epic: two bleaches, multiple this and thats, and a 7-hour marathon of hair transformation. At one point, I swear I saw the ghost of Vidal Sassoon giving a thumbs-up from the corner. By the time they spun my chair around to face the mirror, my hair had transcended this mortal plane. Hereās the kicker: not only did my hair look amazing, but something else happened. My skin was glowing like Iād just stepped out of a $500 spa treatment. My posture improved. My credit score mysteriously jumped 50 points. Later that night, my partner told me I radiated āmain character energy", and that even she felt it (and she's british) and I couldnāt even argue. If you think this sounds too good to be true, just wait. That night, my cat, who has been grumpy and aloof her entire life, curled up in my lap for the first time. I swear, CAB Career Academy Beauty doesnāt just transform hairāthey transform lives. If youāve been debating whether to fix your hair or embrace the chaos, stop debating. Go to CAB Career Academy Beauty and prepare to have your entire existence upgraded. Yani, Summer, Natalia, Coach Tina, and Coach Ashleyāthank you for everything. You didnāt just save my hair; you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been coming here for 12 years now and, while I did grow up getting great service and was entirely loyal to their services, the quality has certainly dropped within the past few years. The problem isn't at all with the students who do the work, but the staff training them.
Today I went in to get my highlights touched up after scheduling an appointment a week ago. My student asked me some regular, clarifying questions about the services I wanted and was ready to get started--she just needed to check with her teacher first. Ms. Tina took a quick look at my hair and told me I would not be getting my highlights touched up today. She told me what I needed was a hair mask and a haircut and that I could come back in a month for highlights. I tried to convince her otherwise but was continuously shut down. The student confirmed several times how I wanted my hair cut (just straight across, not rounded or anything special). At the end, when Ms. Tina came back to look over her work, she said more needed to be cut. She took the student's scissors and went in "free-hand" (her exact words) and began cutting my hair without using a comb or even her other hand. I got home only to see the haircut was not straight across, but instead was rounded and incredibly uneven. I don't plan on...
