Poffie Girls Bridals & Formals — Attraction in Gastonia

I want to share our review of Poffie Prom as we high hopes to find a prom dress of my daughters dreams here. We visited the store this weekend (Saturday) traveling from Myrtle Beach SC to Charlotte NC, 3 1/2 hrs. I called a head to make sure we did not need an appointment. I followed the store on social media for several weeks a head of our trip. Upon arrival at 10:30am, they opened at 10am. We were asked to scan a QR code and wait 25-30min in our car for access to the upstairs prom dress shopping. So we did not get to gain entrance right away. After driving 3.5hrs the last thing I wanted to do was sit in my car again. So I asked the hostess to let us wait in the lobby which they did. We waited. After about a half hour we were allowed to go upstairs where we were informed that dresses were organized by size and color. There was one room where they housed the sizes, 4 & 6 which is my daughters size. In that room only one / two racks had dresses in her size. So basically we came far to only have about 10-20 dress designs to chose from. From choosing dresses to try on we were moved to a side by side room where she had to share the space with other girls trying on and shopping for dresses amongst wall lined racks and one small mirror to share the space. Overall the prom team were accommodating and helpful but there was certainly no place for Mom (me to stand and view her in her dress) to be and less space for the girls to view themselves in the mirror. I came in a bridal party for the bride. It's a very safe feeling when entering: you ring the doorbell and someone comes to unlock the door, let you in, and lock it behind you. Nice! (I imagine it also is helpful in keeping the dresses in pristine condition.) We were greeted and welcomed immediately and warmly, and then introduced to our consultant Savannah.

Savannah was amazing!! The system at Poffie Girls to start choosing is to give the bride a loop with 4 flower claw clips on it (all 4 the same color). If you like a dress, you put a clip on it (we put them on the hangers out of respect for the dresses). The consultant takes those dresses to your room and based on what you say that day, the styles you mark, and the questionnaire, she pulls more dresses from the store's stock.

Savannah quickly understood the bride's vision and pulled some FANTASTIC dresses from the store's stock. She was also very open and kind during the process. She didn't put any pressure on the bride to buy a dress right then, or to buy a specific dress. We never felt rushed. She listened to the bridal party as needed and made us feel included, but she focused most on the bride, which is perfect!

If I was in need of a wedding dress, I'd go out of my way to shop here. The selection was amazing, and the consultants we interacted with seemed like they loved their jobs and were super warm...

As a plus sized bride, I wholeheartedly recommend Poffie Girls. When I made my appointment I let them know my street size along with styles listed on their website I was interested in. I went on a Friday afternoon with my mom and girls I pretty much had the shop to ourselves! It is so charming and feminine in there. My stylist Jennifer was a dream to work with and made me feel extremely comfortable in the fitting room. She had already pulled the styles I when I made my appointment and quickly browsed my Pinterest board to get a feel for what I was initially drawn to. She was also great about reading the room and pulling dresses based on feedback. She also noticed when I was feeling a little overwhelmed with options and had me sit down with some refreshing water to review my choices which completely cleared my head and gave me a second wind! I also appreciated that when I tried on accessories I enjoyed (headpiece, veil) Jennifer offered to add them to my profile with the store for future reference, so I did not feel at all pressured to purchase on starry-eyed impulse.
