Krisay's Appliance & Bedding — Attraction in Geistown

Purchased 10k BTU Friedrich portable air conditioner to replace a smaller, cheaper unit purchased from big box store. Our awning windows required another local business to build a window insert which took time to match the fitting (krissays took my payment before I received the actual unit).When we finally installed the AC, we quickly realized it was far less effective than the smaller, cheaper unit from box store. Krissays wouldn’t honor any return since I “waited too long” (we’re talking a few weeks) and ,admittedly, I did dispose of original box. At no point did any manager take 2 seconds to ask what was wrong/how they could help just a brief message forwarded from front desk worker. Unfortunately in 2024 big box stores are offering cheaper, more effective products with equally poor customer service. Speaking of “waited too long” When our ac unit was ready for pickup we were advised to travel to their Franklin st location. Upon arrival we waited our turn for assistance, only to be informed the unit was “still at the warehouse” and I would need to load my infant son back in vehicle and drive there for pickup. So we head over and the search continues, unsuccessfully. Turns out the unit “must be back at the store” Drive back to where we started, search continues, units finally found! We’ve supported this store for years and writing this review felt as unpleasant as the overall experience. We’ll buy elsewhere...

Support your local businesses. You might be able to get it cheaper online BUT you will not get the personal knowledgeable service as you would walking into a locally owned business. For example, I had a problem with my fridge, needed a part and walked into Krisays on Franklin St. with a rough description of what I needed backed with no experience or knowledge of what I was talking about. I was greeted and assisted by a wonderful knowledgeable patient employee who researched, located and provided me with exactly what I needed. Got home, replaced the part and back in business. Your not going to get that kind of service online. Actually, the condensor fan blade was cheap but I almost felt like paying them more for the part and service. Thank you Krisays and I will be back with any appliance needs I may have. I recommend supporting your local businesses and Krisays is certainly one worth...

This past Monday November28th Krisay's delivered a speed queen washer to our house in the West End of Johnstown. Jim and Don were very professional young men. They were courteous and answered all my questions and gave more tips on how to use the washer. The best part they were careful on their delivery typical small tight house in johnstown 28" washer 30 inch space to manuneur that washer in the door down about eight steps a pole and tight entrance to the wash room. Great job not a scratch or mark on the washer. The reason I point that out we a nightmare experience from a local big chain store at a big local chain store a week before. They had outside contractors bad just deliver the washer bang it dent it push it the corner see ya no leveling it gone not my problem I forgot to thank Mike the manager who sold the washer to us he was a lot of help....
