Grant Homestead Association — Attraction in Georgetown

We enjoyed the tour very much. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They recently came in possession of the original tannery across the street owned by the Grants. So that was pretty cool to see. I believe that is my first time seeing one. I do think they could benefit by having a nice visitor center with a short film and a gift shop. This is a nicely restored home dating from the 1800's where U.S. Grant grew up. They have tried to recreate what it would have looked like with wallpaper, carpet, furniture, and paint. There is a volunteer guide who was a bit long winded but still informative. Worth the visit to see how a future president grew up and made his way...
