We had the most amazing visit thanks to Cris and Marianne. They were so informative and extremely welcoming to our nine-year-old granddaughters and to my husband and me. They stayed and made sure we experienced the full tour even though we arrived a bit later than we planned. The home is beautifully kept, and the tour provided so much insight into the life of a very great man- Hiriam Ulysses Grant. We hope to bring our other grandchildren when they are a bit older. Thank you to the two fantastic docents who made this experience...

The quality of the movement and materials was reminiscent of Disney -...
Read moreNice house. Nice grounds. The house was furnished nicely with period pieces. Some were even owned by the Grant family. Nothing really wowed me though compared to some other Presidential sites I've been to.
If you are in the area, I'd say yes, you should stop. You might be a bit disappointed though if you made a dedicated trip. The drive on state routes is about as enjoyable as the destination.
Make sure you hit his birthace home down the road in Point...
