Loved it for someone with a 2 yr old. I walked all the way to the beach to the left of the fishing pier bc there were TONS of jelly fish in the water of the main, larger beach. But the smaller area was PERFECT! shallow enough for my petite 2 yr old to stand about 4-5 ft in.. lots of big shells (oysters) .. no jellyfish that i saw on that side. There were spots with shade, others in the sun so you have the best of both worlds. Benches and a few trash barrels very close! No excuses for litter bugs! (As my mom would say/sing, "litter bug, litter bug, shame on you!")

The water is calm.. the biggest waves are tiny little wakes from a boat that may pass wayyy out.

Comfortable water temp.. warm but not HOT.. still refreshing, yet you don't think twice when walking in about the temp of the water.. clear, clean, no seaweed, shallow, small beach, quiet, super clean, shells to mystify my toddler (okay and maybe me too)..I mean, in my world, that is PERFECTION!!!

I went late.. like 430-830.. there are ppl fishing on the pier, but other than that I saw 1 large family that was very friendly.. had 4 kids playing, one woman with a baby briefly, another child who's parents were fishing so I let her play with my daughter and i.. and us two! I had SUCH a wonderful time!! It's far from my home but I'm...

This beach is a great place for fishing as well as, boating! swimming isnt allowed in some parts. The fishing pier is open 24 hours a day, but the park portion closes from sunset to sunrise! The beach is narrow, but it is long. So it's great for a nice walk. The bank of the beach is very close to the water. There is a T shaped walking pier, that juts out into the York River. It's a tranquil place. You will be Right under, as well as, adjacent to the Coleman (draw) bridge that connects one side of Historical Yorktown, Virginia and then ends at the entry point of Gloucester, Virginia , which is within close proximity to the Gloucester point beach! You can view both counties from Gloucester Beach. The Coleman bridge is a 3,750 foot toll bridge that collects in cash or card (as of my visit April 2022), for crossing the bridge if coming into the Glocester County side. The fee for cars is 2.00 for two axles 3.00 for three axles and 4.00 for 4 or more axles. The beach is clean!!! beautiful Must come see!!! The sights of the sky over the river is so georgeous at...

Love this beach but would love to have the little building "snack bar" opened back up. I have contacted the county about what it would take for me to personally get on-board an open that back up!! Can't get a call back from the county. It's been 3 summers It's been closed. The last 2 summers it was open I helped the lady who had the contract an we did Huge business!! Especially on holidays like memorial day weekend an the 4th of July was absolutely amazing! I would love to get someone to contact me back to let me know what i could do to open that up!! Would be a huge revenue for Gloucester...

Not very comfy, but still nice to be on the beach. Just feels like a sketchy area and wasn't very comfortable there by myself. Although one thing that was pretty cool was there was a man playing bagpipes in the park by the beach entrance. He was nice when I asked him if I could get pics and video of his amazing talent. It would be cool to hear his story. Unfortunately it was cold when I was there but I'm sure it might be better when it's sunny and more comfy.

Great enjoyments for everyone. Fishing, boating, sightseeing, learning historical site. Bring your grand parents if they used to travel in this area. Sure your experiences. You can have a family picnic here, catch crabs and fish and cook fresh at a picnic area. Washing and shower is available here too.
