The Skyline Trail Loop in Mount Rainier National Park is a beautiful and accessible hike that offers stunning views and is suitable for hikers of all ages, including children.

One of the highlights of this trail is the opportunity to witness a picturesque waterfall cascading down from Mount Rainier. The sight of the waterfall adds an extra touch of beauty to the already breathtaking scenery. Additionally, the trail meanders alongside charming creeks, creating a serene and calming atmosphere.

The moderate difficulty level of the Skyline Trail makes it accessible to a wide range of hikers. Even children can enjoy this hike without much difficulty. However, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on younger hikers and ensure they have appropriate footwear and enough water and snacks.

The trail itself is well-maintained, allowing hikers to focus on the beauty of their surroundings rather than the difficulty of the terrain. The scenery along the trail is truly mesmerizing, with magnificent views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding landscapes.

The Skyline Trail is definitely worth spending some energy on, as the rewards are abundant. From the captivating waterfall view to the peaceful creeks and panoramic vistas, every step along this trail is filled with natural wonders. Be prepared to be in awe of the beauty that Mount Rainier National Park has to offer.

It is a highly recommended hike for those looking for a beautiful and relatively easy trail in Mount Rainier National Park. The presence of a waterfall and picturesque creeks, along with the accessibility for hikers of all ages, make it a rewarding experience that is definitely worth the...

The trail for us was pretty foggy and cloudy, so we weren't able to see much off in the distance. No epic views. But the fog did add its own kind of beauty to the landscape. We got up to a high point and the clouds were coming and going and we were able to see Rainier right there in front of us. So that was pretty cool. The way down though the fog was a lot thicker, so there was even less views, so I'm glad we did the whole loop. We went counterclockwise on the trail and it was fairly easy for a couple miles until you hit the rocky inclines!! That's when my legs started to really feel it! The last 1/2 mile or so of the trail downhill was rough. Our legs were already pretty tired so walking down a steep, paved decline made our feet and shins hurt! We did Naches trail the day before, which is a pretty easy hike, so do the easy hikes first!!! Cause if you're not in super shape you will be sore after Skyline!

We came during peak season, so getting there early was a must! Even at 6am parking spots were filling in.

The wildflowers were such a beautiful touch to the landscape!

The wildlife in the park are very people friendly. It was almost like they were purposely making the perfect poses for photos! Lol. The chipmunks are super friendly, probably because people feed them, but be careful cause they will bite...

Review: The Trail at Paradise – Mount Rainier (Early May Conditions)

Visited this week and Paradise truly lives up to its name—especially on a sunny day. The views of Mount Rainier are absolutely breathtaking with clear blue skies, but don’t let the sunshine fool you: the trail is still completely packed with snow.

If you’re planning to hike, bring snowshoes. The snow is deep and soft in places, making regular hiking boots a challenge. Without proper gear, you’ll find yourself post-holing and struggling to stay upright. That said, if you’re prepared, it’s a magical experience. Snow-covered trees, sparkling slopes, and a serene quiet make it feel like a winter wonderland.

Even if you don’t plan to hike far, the area around the Paradise parking lot is still worth exploring. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and water—it may be cold, but the sun is intense.

Bottom line: a stunning spot year-round, but right now it’s best for well-equipped...
