I came in at the end of June recently. I found snow on half of the trail, but the road to reach here was clear. Snow has already started melting, so hiking was not a problem. People said the best time to come here is in August. Try to get there by 8 A.m.; otherwise, you will not get a parking space on weekends. Skyline Trail is popular, and I also hike on it. The whole loop is around 4.5 miles. There is a visitor center that opens only at 10 AM. You will get more information about the trail, and its condition. Ranger mentioned coming back to the same skyline trail, but I went to the other half of the loop of the trail, which was pretty much covered with snow, and I had a hard time. By the way, one app called “National Park Trail Guide” that will guide you on the trail and work well without a signal. I got this information from one of the hikers I met on Mount Rainer. Also, get the “America the Beautiful” annual pass when you enter the national park, which costs $80, and you can go to other parks as well, like Olympic, as many times as you want within that year. Also, if you want to go at the end of June, I suggest taking snowshoes and a stick. Many YouTubers mentioned taking an AWD SUV as a vehicle, but if you are going at the end of June and the road is clear, then a typical sedan like a Corolla is fine, and I did the same. Overall, my experience was good. Hope you...
Read moreI always love Mount Rainier National Park. Paradise have got miles of trail to walk and enjoy the beauty of the Volcanic Mountain and National forest. During june/july there will be flowers all around meadows. The Visitor centre have a nice information booth, a small cafe with nice pizza available. Toilets are present. parking lot is quite big but can fill up soon. Take a map from visitor centre to better enjoy the trails. Alta Vista trail is one which I feel the best. There are many other trails. Dogs are strictly not allowed. Sunny days are few so plan accordingly. Sunny in Seattle maynot be...
Read moreWent to Paradise in Mount Rainier last week. The place is genuinely amazing, with great views and cool trails. But, I had an off experience there. Some older white lady, acting like she was some sort of park ranger, kept telling me not to step on the grass. Thing is, I wasn’t. Felt like she was singling me out because of my skin color. Not cool.
Still recommend the place because the nature's worth it. But if you're heading there, just be aware that not everyone's friendly. Hope the park folks do...
