One of the very nicest and most enjoyable Nebraska libraries I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Making use of books, having copies made, local information at times... it's always come through for me. Summer before last I was spending weeks in Grand Island as I sought help at the Veterans Administration Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System up on North Broadwell Ave. This Grand Island facility is always clean, always with something interesting going on, and generally has quite an wide-ranging mix and variety of humanity there making good use of this decent library. Even the building itself is well designed and thought through. Fine bronze statues outside including good ole' Samuel Clemens (a.k.a. "Mark Twain") and others. Read moreI love this library, and they have a great number of books with diverse topics, which is positive. Service is great, all their workers are nice and are thrilled to help you at all time. However, it is loud, and no one does anything about it. People talking on their phones, others having chats while someone is reading close to them, and teenagers are always joking and laughing, but they are loud, and the problem seems to be that no one cares, no one stops it. I would recommend coming here they are nice people and have multiple activities, if you love reading this is for you, plus they have a Teen Program, also Adult and Children Programs, when I give my time to work there they are nice and kids seem to have fun there...
