This is a fun little area not too far from Deep Creek and the Wisp. The house includes artifacts and history of the Yodor family. We really enjoyed exploring all 4 levels and learning more about the people in this area from the mid 17th century. There is a DVD on the second floor with a video about how and why the Yodors came to America. My kids really enjoyed the scavenger hunt. Even some of the adults were stumped trying to find some of the historical artifacts spread throughout all 4 floors. The musuem is free and run by volunteers but does accept donations to keep the Musuem open and running. The Musuem is located inside the Artisian Village. There were so many beautiful and handmade treasures to buy. There were also 2 restaurants. We were able to eat lunch and buy some treats at the restaurant next to the Musuem House. We will come back to try the other restaurant next time. The hosts also gave us some reccomendations for a few other local places to try that we hadn't seen before. The museum gives the story of the Yoder family, who emigrated from Switzerland in the mid 1700s.
There is a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged, and a volunteer host to show you the points of interest.
