This is the most incredible treasure I have found. What the foundation stands for WITH the service & products they provide was just such a complete and spectacular day trip. also everywhere is immaculately clean.
I was hungry so I started at the Magnolia cafe & bakery where i had a hearty and yummy portions of caesar wrap (fries and a little coleslaw included) and apple juice. 10/10
heard they had puppies and walked maybe 15 seconds to the garden and pet center. still cold so not as much garden right now BUT 6 PUPPIES AND A BIRD NAMED CHARLIE THAT WILL BOP TO YMCA. they have items to sell and found out they make dog cookies on site too?! i grabbed a bunch of those and some other items in between cooing at the puppies. 2 silly puppies were in a giant pen where you are allowed to pet them!!!
so when buying the dog snacks found out they also sell human snacks so i was about to walk to the county farm store but got distracted by a thrift shop?! found some cards, activities i can do with my niece, & some comic books.
after got i got to the county store and bought some cookies and soup mix. this is clearly where the baking happens. this spot has other excellent small owned products that explain the origin and a blurb about the company. felt like a all in one farmers market in the best way.
visitors center is heavy in history but very well placed? a mini museum? a lady told me a little about the foundation and didn't realize Lamb Farms has really helped the community
i then saw cows do I did a quick pit stop in my car to drop off all my merch and sauntered over. Steve the word working angel told me about when they would be open but gave me permission to look at the cows by the fence.
WILL COME BACK ALONE, WITH FRIENDS,...
Read moreI am so disgusted!!!! The house that cages rabbits, quail birds, etc... Was so dirty, the cages were heart breaking, the birds had no water and so dirty. The male birds were attacking the female birds, I mean blood, bald spots, sores!!! We spoke to the so called manager who said she knows and they are working on. There is an empty cage between the two cages to do something immediately about. We took pics of the sores on these poor birds. We had to pour water in the bowl from top of cage. Birds were running in such distress away from being attacked. There was a bearded dragon (new to them manager said), with improper caging, water, sand etc... that causes medical issues for these creatures, my niece has one and was educated on what and WHAT NOT to do for them. We tried to explain to manager who only said they have a expert to help them. Poor blizzard was so. Full of stress and so hiper. Trying desperately to get out of cage. Helping humans with disabilities at the expense of quality of life for some animals. Not right in my book!! Overall could be a decent place with properly trained people and my GOD HOW ABOUT EDUCATED PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT KIND OF ENVIRONMENT IS NEEDED FOR ALL KINDS OF CREATURES BIG AND SMALL. it's not this right to put these animals under such distress for entertainment and to teach people with disabilities how to take care of them improperly. We will be back, a lot of us to see if some thing has been done, if not we will not stop until using our voice on all levels to either close the place or get educated people...

So I stopped and pet the little pony that was eating grass. However, when I tried to feed the little pony some of the grass that it was already eating, some very rude lady came running over and yelling at me like I was her child. I would like to point out that obviously I am older than her so that's not even possible and then also, in a lot of instances, obviously the odds are that people don't want you feeding the animals, however there was no sign saying that and anywhere and also there is a proper and an improper way to address other paying customers in that situation. This was very inappropriate and I even gave the woman time to correct her behavior but she flatly refused to. She was helping with the camel ride people or it was her business. I told her I understand and gave her time to change but she decided herself not to. After that exceptionally embarrassing incident in front of a lot of people me and my family just left and this place lost a family group and their relatives business for the day. Later in front of my in-laws my small daughter asked "Daddy why did that woman talk to you like you were being bad when you told me to not be like that." I don't care if they are a small local business and need support like someone else said, you don't treat...
