I feel so incredibly blessed to have found LIGHT CITY Church. The service we had on February 24, 2019...my God!!! I can't remember the last time, if EVER, church ran over by FIVE minutes let alone 90 and it didn't even FEEL LIKE IT! I was glued to my place and didn't have the slightest urge to leave. God's presence was so heavy, I could see and feel lives being forever changed all around. It was beautiful!!! I couldn't help but to thank God over and over again for leading us here...
I thank God for entrusting Pastors Bruce Goodwin and Rotoya Goodwin with His plan to start a church such as this one. One where the leadership cares so deeply about their members that they actually concern themselves with our salvation, our personal encounters and experiences with God, and our familiarity with what the WORD - not what the world - says about us.
This church's leadership loves their members so much that they go all out of their way to help us to learn and confidently know what it looks like to walk a God-led life in this world. They desire to increase our God-given power and influence in the Kingdom of God far more than they desire to increase their membership. Though increase it absolutely will. God is all up and through this place, it has no choice BUT to grow!
In short, Light City Church leadership is obsessed with us :). And we like it! Also, the love you get from everyone on the team there is EVERYTHING! To walk into a place and have the faces of the people there virtually light up at the sight of you is something I've never experienced before! How could I ever want to stop going there?!
If you want a taste of what the love of God really feels like, and learn useful tools to help you walk this life out in love and joy, you need to come to this church. They're doing big things in the next few months, too. You won't want...
Read moreI just came from BCF National Conference and leaving I desired to go deeper in my relationship with Christ. I met someone from Light City Church while at conference and she invited me to her church and I happily accepted. This was right when Covid started and my current church was closed. As soon as I got there I felt like I was at a family gathering. I just knew I had to keep coming back. I basically began to just follow Light City everywhere, whether in person or online. I just knew I wanted to learn and grow with them. I knew there was something so personal about Light City that I wanted to be apart of. The family feel, the desire to grow and be transformed. One thing that was so very special about Light City is every service the Lord would always meet us there. I remember one week I was talking with God about how I missed singing this one song corporately at my previous church and the same week on Sunday Pastor Rotoya began to sing the same song during worship I was blown away and in aw of God. He is there every single Sunday without missing a beat. The level of worship of surrender... It's all of this and so much more as to why I call Light...
Read more"I was raised in a very legalistic pentecostal church where some of their doctrines seemed to be extremely inconsistent with The Word. I took some time to look for a new church home. It was a grueling process. In the mean time, as a musician, I assisted different churches through music. I came across Light sessions and would assist here and there through music. Eventually the Light Sessions formed into the actual church where I'd continue to serve. I eventually decided to become a partner after experiencing the goodness of God and the church body at Light City. It felt like where I needed to be. For a long time, I yearned for healthy teaching, solid preaching, community, and accountability - all things that I didn't quite receive at my former church. Ever since growing at Light City, I'm proud to admit that I've gained loving and humble pastors, solid brothers and sisters and proud to be apart of a growing community. I used to be heavily reclusive. I shunned accountability. I never really cared for closeness. I'm thankful that LC family has continued to create a lasting bond without judgment, but with...
