Wish there was a zero star option! We are incredibly dissatisfied with our experience and with the quality of furniture from American Furniture in Greensboro. Every sofa we received (from date of delivery) were defective and poor in quality. Their drivers even saw it, took pictures and called the store to tell them!
We called and emailed so many times and told us they would take care of our defective sofas when pandemic was better. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, saying they would rectify the matter, etc, but we are especially appalled by one of their managers today (Brandon) in how he handled himself. HE was so unprofessional! Their other manager (Holden) has promised to call us repeatedly, and has not done so ever. We left messages for Jason, who has not returned any calls! He is supposedly "too busy" we have been told. They have strung us along for so long, without resolution. We have given every opportunity for them to fix this issue. In addition, prior to even helping us at all, they said they had to send out "someone" to check the sofas. They sent a Florida based repair company to oversee the matter with the defects. A person who was unqualified, unprofessional and who also lied about her findings (different than what she told us in our home). This is unacceptable! In addition, months ago, we reached out to the manufacturer (New Classic Furniture) several times, (as we have been in the middle of this pandemic) and they also would NOT do anything to rectify the defective sofas, even though we sent them pictures, etc. nor did they even want to hear anything about it, other than saying "you have to go through American Furniture" (What kind of 3 year warranty are they providing?) The sofas are uneven and lopsided and there was supposed to be a 3 year warranty specifically on the frames! Though we felt uncomfortable having this company from Florida in our home to "check" it, we had no alternative to allow this in the middle of a pandemic. This has been a horrible experiences. We will NEVER buy furniture here again. We are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputed the charges since they have not done anything as promised to rectify this matter. We have given them SO many months and still NOTHING to date. We would never recommend anyone to buy furniture here! Since Jason would NOT return calls for weeks, we had to go in person to the store. He was so incredibly rude to us. Yelled at us!! So incredibly UNPROFFESSIONAL. IN ADDITION, not wearing a mask during a pandemic !! This behavior is unacceptable of a manager !!! I would strongly recommend to anyone who shops here to think twice and go elsewhere. If you have a problem with your purchase, warranty or not, they will not help you, nor do anything for you. (Just to note: our sofas have a 3 year warranty on the frames and that is the problem with the both sofas). Instead, they treat you so badly and disrespectfully. I just found out that Jason is the owner's son. Wow, no wonder he can treat people any way he wants! He has nothing to lose! He doesn't have to worry about losing his job! Nice...
Read moreI have never received worse customer service in my life. I ordered 2 recliners and was told 8 weeks. At 10, I called as I hadn't heard word one from them. I ordered them over the phone, was not given and order number, so when I called it took forever to find it. Was told they would pick them up the following week and to pick them up Saturday. Get a truck lined up, call my sales guy to schedule a time. They said he would call me back in 15 minutes. No return call. Called back 3 times that day, no one even answered the phone.Turns out they never got the chairs. Called on Monday to speak to the manager, was put on hold for 15 minutes until I finally hung up and called back. Another person said he would make sure the manager called me back. Three hours later no call. I call back, finally supposedly get the manager (find out later he wasn't) to be promised the chairs would be picked up the following day and I could get them Wednesday. NO! You can bring them to me free of charge at this point and I want a phone call so I know they were picked up and that you will be delivering. Do I get a call? No. Called the store today to ensure they will be delievered, sat on hold again for 15 minutes and had to call back. Still waiting to see if they actually show up. I have never written any sort of review. I am the person who doesn't complain when something goes wrong but this was too awful not to warn people. I would hate to see anyone go through the frustration that I have had to. This wasn't just one bad sales person. Read moreWe recently moved to North Carolina. We shopped AFW all the time in Arizona and always had a wonderful experience. When we moved here we were excited to find one here. We ordered almost $6000 in furniture and was told it would be here in 1-2 weeks. It took almost 4, but we just shook it off. When the furniture got here one of the couches didn't fit into the door of the room we bought it for and she'd if they could return it. The drivers told us no, they don't do returns. The store was closed by the time or furniture got to our house, so we were going to call the following morning to let them know about the couch and the 2 barstools we ordered that did not come. But I also decided to reach out via text to the person if been working with to let him know we needed a return. I didn't think he'd answer that late in the evening but text do he'd see it in the morning. To my surprise he did respond. He told me that because I signed for the order we could not return the couch and asked why we didn't call the store to verify the possible return. I was dumb founded as he knows when the store closes I am sure. He called the delivery drivers to see what they said and wouldn't you know, they lied. I even tipped them before they left and they still lied. So, now we are stuck with a couch in our hallway because they will not take the return. I will never be doing business with them again.
