There are so many universities to call home to that are much different than GU. Chapel is mandatory on Wednesdays which I miss going to chapel twice a week days ranging from Mondays, Wednesdays, thursday nights, or Fridays. Also, they cut a lot of programs and I wanted to have an art major, but I have art as my minor and it is hard to fulfill classes. I have a Spanish major which has impossible fulfillments. I met the love of my life here. The football team is doing really well this year. The wifi also is hit and miss. The heat in burriet sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. My freshman year we did not have heat. I currently have the luxury of heat. They also don't turn it on until November, which gets cold before then. My favorite place on campus is the union, they have amazing food. The upper union is the coolest hang out on campus. I had my first date here with my boyfriend back in February and we played pool, watched Netflix, and played ping pong. We celebrated our two week anniversary/valentine's day here and we were watching a movie when the water main broke the fire alarm went off to the building next to us, causing the fire alarm to go off in the union, a very interesting memorable day. I am vegetarian, so to me food is important. They have amazing salads and I love the greenie bowl. The DC is kind of gross. Some days I can find food other days I can't. If you have food allergies, be sure to have plenty of food in your dorm. Can goods are perfect or microwavable meals. Dallas annex and Buriet have kitchens, but if there is a fire, the fire alarms don't go off. Fire alarms go off easily for popcorn steam. If you go here, make sure you know your major and they have it before going here and make sure it won't get cut. I love the mailroom. You can have your packages delivered here and they send you an email when they get here. I used it for anything as small as vitamins to a play station 5. You can also have your mailing address sent to GU so you can get your mail here too. Class sizes are small and every professor I have has been really nice. I may hate the classes some teach, but they are...
Read moreThis is my alma matter and I absolutely loved my experience here. Now, I am 14 years removed, but my experience at Greenville as life changing for the better. Being a Christian, it was the perfect place for me to grow in my faith and be challenged in it as well, with the COR classes all students are have to take. With a desire to teach the whole person, days like the all school hike was awesome and you were always given the opportunity to make memories and lifelong friends that were different than you. I would like to believe that heaven is extremely diverse, and Greenville gives you an opportunity to meet different kinds of people that many “normal” high schoolers might overlook. I also played football and ran track here, so the life of a student athlete was also appealing and fun. Tuition is tuition, I mean it is a private liberal arts university, so that’s why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though as I can not speak on the quality of what it is now. I do know that the professors all seek to love like Christ and will do anything for you to help you fulfill your purpose. You will be treated like you matter as the classes are very small and you will be given every opportunity to know and grow your relationship with the creator of the universe who sent his son to die...
Read moreI wish I could give this “university” zero stars or perhaps a negative rating. The girls dorm hall is heinous. Major bug issues on the third floor. Subpar education at best. They try to sell you on going here with measly scholarships and the Jesus effect basically. If you are a Christian with loving kindness DO NOT GO HERE. Parents & future students: your child will not be safe here. Campus safety is worthless. This campus is full of Title IX/sexual assault perpetrators. The Dean of students and many other admin are insensitive to students needs and concerns. Also literally nothing to do in this town you will be so bored here. Please go somewhere more affordable that provides a...
