Went about 2pm. Service was down right awful. Server was rude. We sat ourselves and since we waited about five minutes without service, we got up and got our own menus. (This should have been our cue to leave.) She handed me all the plates to pass out because she forgot who ordered what. She also had an attitude when we asked for drink refills. The order of onion rings pictured were $10 and about the size of quarters/fifty cent pieces. We ordered onion rings, french toast, and two orders of biscuits and gravy. Took over 30 minutes to get our food, and with waiting to place our order and waiting for our check, we were there for about an hour. One other person was in the restaurant eating when we got there, no one else ever came. Now we know why.

An awesome little café in a quaint little town of Greenville, IL, right on the square across from their historic courthouse. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I had to skip out to go testify in a court case, and they watched my food for me and heated it back up for me, when I returned. They have a great selection and their food is very good. This is a great place to eat and visit, or grab a quick meal, before going to the antique movie theater just next door on square. Every time we come to IL, we make a special trip just to eat here.

If a movie producer was building a set that included a classic diner, this would be if. And it was authentic. It wasn't someone trying to create a typical diner. The decor, the setting, the atmosphere, the menu, the good were all good. I had the western omelet whish was excellent. Highly recommend. My sons both had waffles they said were good but nothing special. Service was good, and the food was timely. I would definitely recommend.

So I was just going to get a refund and move on, but since the lady cooking wanted to have an attitude with me and act snotty, I will go ahead and make it public. Me and my wife went here to get breakfast this morning. We both ordered Country Corner omelets. To begin with, our service was super slow. We waited over a half hour to get our food, which would be understandable if they were busy, but they weren't. Not a huge deal. My wife had to leave because she had an appointment at 9 so I got her food in a to-go box and was going to go ahead and eat mine. The omelet we ordered wasn't supposed to have mushrooms. I don't even like mushrooms in omelets. But again, not a huge deal. I was just going to eat it anyway. My first bite of my omelet (which was cooked terribly anyway) had an odd fishy taste. I thought maybe it was just me. Normally I can power through most any meal, even if I don't care much for it, just for the sake of not making an issue or causing a scene. But the off taste was just too much and was making me feel nauseated. So I grabbed my wifes to go box and went to the counter to pay. I quietly mentioned to the server that I thought that the mushrooms might be bad because there was a fishy taste to my omelet. I was thinking she might offer me a refund, since I barely ate any of it, but instead she just said she would let them know. Again, not wanting to make a scene, I just paid and left. I was also thinking that maybe it was just in my own head because I don't like mushrooms much to begin with. So I took my wife her omelet and told her to try it. The first mushroom she ate, she spits back out. I took her tray back to Country Corner and again went quietly to the register and told our server (who by the way was nothing but nice) that my wife's omelet was also bad and asked if I could just get a refund. She goes to the back and asks and comes back to tell me that she can refund just the one omelet. So I ask why they won't also refund me for the omelet that I barely touched. She goes to the back to ask again and at this point, the lady who I assume is the manager or something comes to the front and says "We don't even keep the mushrooms by the fish. I can show you." I reply to her "Then they are probably not any good and my omelet wasn't supposed to have mushrooms anyway." She then waved her hand at me in a snotty gesture, scoffed and proceeded to stand off to the back glaring at me and talking about me as I got my money refunded. I have never been the type of person to cause a scene in public. I also try to support small town business when I can. I tried to be polite and somewhat discreet about it. She chose to treat me like I am an idiot. So enjoy this wonderful review that you wouldn't have gotten if you had just done the right thing and perhaps not served an incorrect order that was also spoiled along with being...

Been going to the Corner Cafe for years. I've had a few meals that wasn't as good as the previous ones. Went there today for breakfast and had a terrible experience. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, like I've ordered countless times before. I took one bite and had a hair in my mouth 🤢😡!! Thought I was going to 🤮🤮!! Waitress came over and asked "is there something wrong". I started "There is a damn hair in my burger"!! She took the plate, no apology or anything. She went to the kitchen and I heard the owner ask what's wrong. Waitress told her, owner asked "does he want something else ". A different waitress came to the table and asked if I wanted something else. I told her I wanted another cheeseburger and fries, without a hair in it!! She laughed and said "I'll try"!! 😡🤬 So the second cheeseburger and fries came out, no hair. The owner came out from the kitchen, she is also the cook. She didn't even acknowledge me! I didn't receive an apology from either waitress or owner, not even a discount on my ticket!! Seriously what a LOUSY WAY to run a local restaurant and a LOUSY WAY, to treat a regular customer!! I'm not sure if I will ever eat...
