I have no problem with Westmed as an entity. I have been a patient for about 10 years. However, the new portal still has a lot of bugs to work out. I still can't make appointments online.
My ire is with the Westmed Greenwich Urgent Care. I went here one morning before work. For some reason, my right ear gets clogged every 6 months or so and I have to have it cleaned out. It causes my equilibrium to be off balance and I get incredible migraines and am dizzy, which I was feeling that morning. My doctor didn't have any appointments, so I figured I'll just go here on my way into work. I didn't wait very long. Typically, my doctor flushes my ear with a large metal syringe filled with warm water. No problems. They didn't use this. They used something else, but were still successful. However, I had a ton of water trapped in my ear, which has never happened before and I have had this procedure done many times. My dizziness and headache were worse. The doctor/NP (not sure what she was but, I think she doesn't work there anymore because she isn't listed on the website) told me if I didn't feel better in a few hours to come back. This is where my anger really started to form. After about two hours at work, I was feeling so sick. I decided to leave and go back. When I got there, the front desk woman was absolutely rude to me. I told her what was going on and that the doctor/NP told me to come back if I wasn't feeling well. She told me to wait. I waited about 10 minutes or so and she came back and told me that the doctor/NP couldn't see me and there was nothing they could do for me, in the rudest way possible. She was a total *itch to me. The doctor/NP refused to come out and speak to me as well. SHE TOLD ME TO COME BACK, if I wasn't feeling well! I will never go back here.
Again, I have no issues with Westmed. I typically go to the Ridge Hill location. I love all of my doctor's. I love that everyone is in one building and all of the staff there has always been incredibly accommodating...
Read moreI have been with Westmed for 4+ years now and the doctors and service has been great! Also, the portal was easy to use - I could reach my doctors at, see my test results online, keep track of yearly progress I was making with my tests. Recently they moved to a new portal which is horrible. My old test results are gone and I need to request everything "officially". I can no longer see my ultrasound results or the friendly graphs which the previous system displayed with all the test results. I have half the mind to switch to a different network just because of how bad this new system is. Thankfully the doctors are great! I really thought they would transfer historical data into the new system. Guess they don't want to spend any money into that!!! Extremely disappointed!!!!
Update: It's been over 2 weeks since I requested my old medical records and I still haven't received it. I don't know who's benefitting from this move, but it's not the patients. Also, I could easily chat about my bill concerns on the webpage before. Now I haven't got a response in 48hrs. I am using the new billing link. This is ridiculous. I used to love how easy Westmed was to work with. I have even chosen doctors in the same network because it was easy for me to just work with them. Now, not so much. Especially with all the other reviews here saying how Westmed is too expensive, I might start...
Read moreWhile the doctors of this office are great, dealing with the corporate entity of Westmed has been beyond horrible. They continue to send us incorrect bills and expect payment but will not fix the errors. The general email address gets no response and the phone number puts me on hold for hours at a time. There is no accountability within this group and expect payment that is not warranted. I view this as fraud and morally corrupt. Once I get these invoices corrected, we will never utilize this group for any medical services. It is a shame they put women, especially new mothers, through this.
Update 8/30/22 - We are still experiencing billing issues with Westmed. This has been the worst experience of both my personal and professional lives. We try to call the office listed on the invoice and receive a different representative / answer every time. They also state that they are adding our notes to our file, which never amount to a change in our account.
