Generally really dirty, ceiling tiles missing in several places in multiple theaters. Marks and smudges on the screens in a few. The floors and seats are typically pretty clean though. The power went out in the middle of the film. All screenings shut down simultaneously and the two guys working claimed they couldn’t get them brought back up even though all other electrical service to the building had been restored. More than one person voiced the idea that the employees had tripped and reset the breaker intentionally so they could close down and go home sooner. I don’t know about that, but I suppose it is plausible and there was no inclement weather at the time. Everyone did get rain checks as a result, although given the quality of the film combined with this experience I probably should’ve asked for a refund.
Edit: Aug 24 2024 see first line of picture below. They DO NOT stand by this policy. At all. Saw Deadpool 3 at 2150. There were no fewer than seven children in the theater. Two were 12 year-old girls running up and down the stairs the entire movie. The others were all under the age of four. A man and a woman brought THREE toddlers into the film, and were allowed to by the theater management, and these kids could NOT shut the hell up. They spent more than an hour talking. I lost count of how many times they were walked out and back in and back out again. There is no way in hell the two adults enjoyed the film so it’s clear they were just bringing the kids in and out to ruin the movie for everyone else. Then they were finally gone….then they came back twenty minutes later in the middle of the movie to gather up Al their snacks and cups and trash walking back and forth up and down the aisle using their phone flash lights to shine on everything. Absolutely despicable. No one bothered to complain to the management because it was clear the mere fact they were allowed in at all meant that they wouldn’t be ejected.
I don’t know what the Home Town brand requires of their franchise locations or whatever, but I can’t imagine this place meets corporate standards, whatever...
Read moreWhen we first walked into the theater, I noticed the smell. There was a stale and damp smell at first. We didn't notice until we sat down that there was a mop bucket in one of the isles. I assumed the staff was cleaning, but then noticed there was a trash bag around one of the chairs, and water was dripping from the ceiling into the bucket. As we looked up, I noticed a huge hole in the ceiling that water was dripping from and into the bucket that was placed underneath. The smell became clear after that. The smell of mold was pretty strong, and it made it difficult to concentrate on the movie. I wasn't sure we were even in the rights theater because it looked like it should have been closed down until repairs were made. But when the movie started playing, I knew this was the right place. So as bad as the smell was, which made me feel queezy, the big gapping hole in the ceiling provided little comfort. I wasn't sure if the water damage was contained to one area or at any moment the ceiling could collapse. I realize it wasn't a huge crowd in the theater, however we should still be in a comfortable environment while watching a movie we paid to see. I was going to leave before the movie began, but since we wanted to see it, I stayed against my better judgment. I will have to say my eyes have been stinging since I left out of there. I haven't had this particular issue in this theater before other than it being sort of dingy, but I feel that for safety reasons, it should be mentioned. This occurred in theater 4 for informational purposes. People who may have severe reactions to mold,...
Read moreJust went to watch the 1:10 pm showing of Star Trek Into Darkness and was enjoying the movie. I was having a really good time until about halfway into the movie the film gets very 1970's home video style and then the movie stops all together. It really disrupted the moment and it was a shame. The movie was restored quickly but the picture quality was not completely fixed. It was very distracting watching the lines and dots all over the screen and they always seemed to be right on the actors faces. I did not complain to the manager but I do feel it is important that I post this review so it can be used to address the issues. You are supposed to be able to get lost in a movie and when you have a break and then bad picture quality you lose the effect the movie had. I was able to continue watching the show and I enjoyed the movie but I was never fully able to get back into the movie because I kept seeing the lines and spots all over the screen and the actors faces. The price for the show was reasonable and the established was clean and i was treated just fine but I was let down with the presentation of the film and the quality after the...
