This was my 2nd visit to this location, the 1st visit was great, not this time! I booked a suite and checked in no problems. When I got to the room I walked in and turned the light switch on at the door and... nothing!! No lights came on, so I called to the front desk, the same girl that had checked me in answered and I explained the lights were not working. She says.. oh yeah, we sent someone to replace the light bulbs but that wasn't the problem we have to call an electrician because we have a wiring problem. I'm thinking to myself, why did this lady just tell me that the room she put me in has an electrical wiring problem? She then says "is that ok with you?" I asked how was I supposed to see in the dark? She replied the lamps work fine.. and I'm sure at this point she can tell I'm aggravated so she says well we can "try" to offer you a discount. I just replied ok whatever and hung up. I should have hung up and called head quarters then like I planned on and relocated to the next town. But I decided to stay and not use the light switch and use the lamps because I would only be there at night. As I am unpacking I realized it's cold so I walk over to the thermostat and turn on the heat and.... nothing again! I called back to the desk and a guy answered, I told him I needed someone to come get the heat working. He was polite and came up right then. He walks to the thermostat and proceeds to tell me that the problem is because I have it set at 68 and it's 66 degrees in the room. Before I could ask him if he was serious about the heat not coming on because I had it set to heat up the room to 68 and it was 66, he realized that he had misspoke and tried to reset the system. A few minutes later the heat kicks on. So he leaves, I unpack, I get ready to leave for the evening and turn the heat up to 69 because it's not really heating up that well. After returning I felt like the room was still kinda cool, so I turned it up to 70 and now it starts to actually warm up. Around 3 in the morning I woke up sweating! I change clothes and go turn the air down, at 5 I woke up freezing. At this point so pissed it's not funny! I'm tired!! As I'm laying there it downs on me that the air is just not cutting off. So I get up and look at the thermostat and no matter which way I turn the air up or down it does not shut off! That's when I noticed he switched the lever from auto to fan... I switched it back and it shut off. He never fixed the heat, he rigged it! I ended up over sleeping and could not speak to the front desk Saturday morning. What kind of business puts you in a room that does not operate properly and then rigs the a/c heating unit? Upon checking out there was a different lady at the front desk, she asked how my stay was, I went through everything with her and told her the 1st lady offered me a discount and all this lady did was say I'm sorry! I back home and look on the website and realized that La Quinta offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee program and this lady told me, I can "try" to offer you a discount! I will stay in the next town 10 miles away before I ever stay here again! Customer satisfaction is not their...
Read moreI was here two nights. The first impressions are good but once checked in, stars start falling. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip. I booked this hotel because it had a pool and hot tub. Not so. Both were down for maintenance; the hot tub was drained and the pool was full of leaves with a note on the entrance not to go in the water. We were really ticked off and it set the mood for the rest of our stay. The room we were assigned was next to the elevator mechanical room. During the daytime, the noise wasn't bothering us but at night, it was a real problem. (probably why I'm writing this review at 3am). The room was not bad. It was kinda small but there are a couple fixable problems. The biggest is the toilet. It rocks back and forth on the floor and makes a loud noise as it moves with body weight. It will not flush unless you hold the handle down. The desk is set up so the desk chair is right in front of the air conditioner. So every time the AC cycles on, you freeze. The bottom bed sheet is really rough. Almost like laying on sandpaper. The TV is a flat screen but it is an older model and has a small screen. The manufacture date on the back says April 2010. The problem with the TV setup is that it is a table top mount and it sits on a very low dresser so you can't see it while laying in bed unless you sit up. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about. Like most LaQuintas, it is more of a continental breakfast. There are hard boiled eggs, waffles, cereal, etc. . I'm not sure what the guests above us are doing right now at 3am but there is a lot of stomping or dropping suitcases on the floor, or something. Kinda irritating but it is a hotel. The lack of maintenance inside and out is almost every LaQuinta downfall and this one is no different. The grass and weeds between the parking lot and the hotel building is really tall. Like most LaQuintas, this is a pet friendly hotel but there is no pet station outside. Waste bags have to be taken to the dumpsters in the back. We have had continuous problems with the internet. 'Nuff said. The bright side of this stay is that the staff is very friendly and pleasant. Seems to be the best part of every LaQuinta that I stay at. So, overall, I can accept some flaws at lower priced hotels but this stay was one of the most unpleasant LQs that we have stayed at. It does have some good points but the bad stuff overshadows the good. Sorry to say that I would not stay at this particular...
Read moreNOT NEWLY RENOVATED!! Just what you see when enter the building. They did not renovate rooms or pool or hot tub!! Smoke and mirrors when you walk from hallways and foyer. Get in your room and it's trash! Furniture outdated and stained and bed linens have blood stains and holes in them. All furniture is junk and stained. Cabinets and drawers are all broken and old. Light fixtures are old and barely there sum don't have covers or lights. Also pool area not renovated. Old pool equipment. And a non working hot tub and tiles falling off into pool creating a possible danger to be cut. Very unsafe! This is the crappiest motel around Cedar Creek Lake. The rooms stink and need to be remodeled. The hot tub and pool needs to be shut down as the hot tub don't filter at all. And pool barely does. I would not recommend this place as it is nasty!! Rooms smell and dog hair and cat hair in the rooms and smell of cigarettes. Half the refrigerators don't work right and when you get into your room it's hot. Ac wasn't even on!! And it was a suite! Needs new furniture as all is stained and wore out. As well as new carpet in all rooms!! Nasty dog pee and cat pee and feceies are still in the carpet and of course underneath as there is plywood under carpet. Doors to balconies don't seal properly and cigarette smoke comes in the rooms regardless. I could go on and on!! People renovate your property hot tub pool rooms and all. Because we should not have to pay for something we can't even use or is dangerous to even get in as the hot tub does not filter!! Nor does the jets work. Heater barely works. Just poor upkeep and needs to be remodeled. Besides the paint they did in hallways and carpet. Everything you see when you come in looks good. But when get to rooms can tell haven't been painted and all furniture and carpet is 20 years old and stained and nasty. As well as bed sheets and comforters and all. Stained and had holes in them. Pillows are little bitty and they don't leave enough towels. They also state that they fix the issues on here I see and they tell you that so you will come back. Don't fix anything! Moldy smelly rooms!! Extended stay down the road is clean and all updated and smells nice because rooms have been remodeled...
