Brought in an iPad to have them check it out (charging would only work when holding the charger). Was told it would be an easy fix, and I should expect a call next business day. 4 business days go by, and I call to check in—during the repair process they broke another part, which required them to order it, causing the delay. After installing the new part, they determined the issue was not the $4 charging port, but the $500 Logicboard. While I’m not convinced their repair didn’t cause the issue, I can’t prove it so am out the full cost of a new iPad.
When pressed, the staff told me they are supposed to tell customers about the issues with repair and recommend we use Apple to make the repairs, and was honest that he would always use Apple for repairs. Expensive lesson to learn, but one that Ribbet openly admitted they should have warned me of up front and failed to do.
For non-Apple they may do a great job, but for Apple users I’d avoid Ribbet...
