What I experienced today at Hackensack Sephora was unacceptable, hurtful and mean. The manager Kat and the “mean girl” employees that worked today 5/9/23 please do better. Discrimination and treating people as less of a person for no reason is so unkind. I went to Sephora to uplift myself and get a few new things but I left hysterically in tears because of an unwelcoming, toxic and racist environment. What would possess a group of adult women to band together to make someone feel sad on purpose?What kind of behavior is that?
Before I left the store, I told my experience to Kat the manager thinking she would be the voice of reason. As we are talking, I can sense her holding back laughter as if the treatment they gave me is funny. I look over and another Sephora employee is looking at me laughing at my tears. At that point I walked away as this was an overwhelming, triggering, terrible thing to do to someone. If you don’t “look” like their kind of customer then you are not welcomed at this location it seems. Give up the “mean girl” culture, embrace being a great beauty advisor and stop upsetting innocent people for no reason....

I was greeted at the entrance by Louise she was so sweet and told me what the new products were and was very informative. i asked where the sol de janeiro perfume was and she showed me in a way that was easy to locate it. When i was ready to pay i went to Alyssa and she was so nice, had such good vibes and was so kind. i then realized i forgot that i also came for the supergoop tinted moisturizer, they told me i can be color matched and found me someone very quick! Aaron came and matched me he was so nice and we had a convo about hair products. I found my shade and paid with him. he made me feel comfortable and was so sweet.
