I don't know what it is about upper valley theaters, but this one is now worse than the Lebanon Six. Upon several arrivals, I have always been greeted by rude, snarky, punks who are more interested in the angle their elbows lean on the counter, than the patrons entering their buisness. And if they're not helping you, then it is the rudest manager I have ever met at a theater. The only reason my friends and I go here occasionally, is that they get a decent selection of independent films. But no longer will they receive our patronage, after the last time we went there. The theater was fifty degrees and they refused to turn the heat up; the bathroom was filthy with urine coating the walls, and the picture quality of the film was not cared for. Not to mention, the overpriced tickets! These are prices I would expect in the city, but I guess when you have rich college kids, you don't have to cater to everyday folk. Dirty theaters, rude employees, and poor presentation far outweigh good films, which they do play on the occasion. Take the time, and wait for it to come to the HOP in Dartmouth, or take the drive down to the theater in Springfield VT, both places that are cared for much...
Read moreVery aggressive and rude older short male employee at the register wanted me and my friend to leave our bags/purse on the floor in the corner of the lobby. Both of us had our laptops and other valuable electronics in our bags, but he said there's a $10,000 fine for bringing in a laptop to the theatre, so we asked if we could put them behind the counter. The man yelled at us in a totally disrespectful and inappropriate way. The man proceeded to say to my face that I was very rude and later confronted my friend when he was trying to enter the theatre. As a upperclassman Dartmouth student I love Hanover. Unfortunately, this is the only place in Hanover that I have ever had a negative customer service experience.
Additionally, the seats are very uncomfortable and the theatre is incredibly cramped. There is no way to reserve specific seats so there is no guarantee your party can sit together.
Do not spend your money here. It's a waste of money and will leave you feeling frustrated and disrespected.
Go to Entertainment Cinemas in West Lebanon instead! The prices are the same and the chairs are much larger and recline. Also the employees there are not disrespectful like they are...
Read moreThe worker at the ticket booth (whom struck me as the owner because he genuinely seemed to care about the whole operation) did not try to sell me goodies at the food counter when I mentioned that I was hungry. He genuinely was fine with me going out and getting something down the street! What an amazing show of love for humanity and that the dollar is not the most important thing to him. So I bought a large drink and popcorn and even candy to show him that I cared about his love for my needs. The movie ticket was only $10! I haven’t paid that low of a ticket price in quite awhile. The theater was the only one in the area showing the movie on the opening night, but it wasn’t full. I was sad to see that. Drink refill or popcorn are only $1! The sound in the theater was great. Afterward, the same gentleman offered me a ride when I was seemingly stranded because there were no uber in the area. Amazing service! I will definitely return because I feel like I’m valued as a human. Five stars is not enough...
