Hanover Scoops — Restaurant in Hanover

Such a great spot for a Maple Creamie! Hanover Scoops is the second ice cream shop in the “Scoops” family (the first is in Woodstock). This weekend was their opening weekend, and being a holiday weekend, it was obviously very busy. All of the staff were kind and helpful, despite a seemingly endless flow of customers. My children had cookie dough ice cream and a maple creamie. I went with an ice cream bar from the freezer chest- all were delicious! Portions were generous and prices were very reasonable not only for Hanover, but compared to area ice cream shops. Scoops is a wonderful addition to Hanover, and a big undertaking considering the staffing shortages throughout the Upper Valley. Both ice cream shops - Woodstock & Hanover- seem well staffed, and the employees are always smiling which leads me to believe that the owners treat their staff well, and I love to support businesses that appreciate...

I've been here half-a-dozen times. The selections are broad and the ice cream good. The last time I was there (last night), I had two complaints. First, one of the servers, though wearing a plastic glove on one hand, handled the cone with the other hand. Second, she put the soft serve ice cream in the cup in such a way that it was essentially hollow. I ordered a medium, but got very little ice cream. I have used a soft serve machine, and I know there is a way to avoid this. Given how pricey the servings are, this was disappointing. I am so disappointed! I feel totally ripped off. I ordered a small creamie in a dish. I asked the girl taking the order to show me the size of their small. She showed me the dish and said they fill it and it will be this high as she held her hand about 2 inches above the cup. When they handed me my dish I was flabbergasted. It cost $7 and change for a dish half filled and not only half as high as the dish, it was not even filled to the sides.
