RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL TWICE IN A MONTH!!!!!
I have family visiting from overseas. I took one member for 'my brigadeiro' experience. I was looking for a small cake but it wasn't available, so I asked the weight of the cake (5lbs, 7lbs etc.). The owner overheard my question that I was posing to the employee. Instead of answering me, she made faces (I could see as she and others there were not wearing masks), got rude and rushed towards me aggressively. She said "our cookies weigh 100gms or more". I told her I was asking about the cake weight (it is how you decide how heavy the cake is and how big of a piece you want). Then she said "it's been a busy day" and told the employee to "give him a cookie" which was also not given! The cookie is not an answer for misbehavior.
I let it pass the first time as well. Just a month ago we had a small family function and wanted a themed cake for it. The owner said it won't be possible because of time constraints. But she was quoting themed cake price for a non-themed cake for just changing the color of butter cream. On politely discussing that "we are not going for a themed cake now but just changing the cream color" she got rude, pressed computer keys harder in frustration, stopped answering our questions, went away and another employee ringed us out.
I had heard good things about this place but my experience has been the worst. If I were to rate them on a 0 to 10 scale, I would rate them "negative,
Read moreI came here to scope it out first, bring a couple treats home to everyone. I bought an açaí bowl for myself, a fruit tart for my son and me, and a cheesecake slice for my son, mom, and self. The fruit tart is the way I would want a fruit tart made if I could dream up a method, perfect it, and make it. The tart crust was almost like a giant a cookie, the cream was a little chocolate, cream/custard, then the fruit. Thrown off by the kiwi added, but an instant love amongst the strawberries and blueberries. The cheesecake was rich, thick, and creamy. I tried the one with lemon which I would have never put together. Surprisingly a delicious mix. So filling that I divided my slice into multiple snackings. The açaí bowl is another level. Unworldly delicious. I may have developed a problem for the exquisite excellence it envelopes in its ecstatic efficacy. You have a choice of different fruits and varying toppings. I Believe there’s blueberries, bananas, and/or strawberries and the toppings are cacao nibs, coconut shavings, condensed milk, granola, honey, milk powder, Nutella, and peanut butter crumble. I liked having mine with blueberries, strawberries, and just the frozen açaí. Highly recommend it. I came back the following week to take my son here. We each got our own bowls of açaí. He also requested a pre-made orange juice from the case, that he loved, a chocolate torte to take home later, and picked out two brigadeiros for each of us. He chose the naked and coffee for himself and my mother and I chose the orange ones. Definitely worth a try. It’s about the size of a truffle, but the texture is somewhat like fudge but creamier. Everything I’ve tried from here is fabulous. You can tell a lot of care was put into the creation of these products from a place of love, which makes the price...
Read moreUgh, I hate writing a bad review, especially since I'd heard good stuff about this bakery. But we were verrry disappointed with the $50 birthday cake I ordered in December. I called days in advance to order a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream icing, my husband's fave. The person who took my order over the phone suggested we add a mocha cream layer in the middle between the cake layers, and I agreed that sounded good. She then read my order back to me and I paid in advance.
We picked up the cake at the specified date and time and immediately drove to NY to spend my husband's birthday with relatives. The cake was really attractive, with excellent fancy writing on top, but when we cut into it that very night we found that it was all covered in the mocha "cream" filling, outside and in. There was absolutely no chocolate buttercream at all. Not only that, but the thick mocha cream on the outside had unpleasantly skimmed over and become stodgy and the sponge was dry. It was not nice to eat and nobody finished their piece. This put a damper on our birthday celebration.
I called a few days later to very politely complain - really I just kinda wanted to know what happened - the order seemed so clear and easy. I explained what happened and left my number with a very sweet employee, Emma, who apologized and said the owner would definitely get back to me. That was weeks ago now and I haven't heard a peep.
The shop is so cute, but sadly I can't recommend this bakery because of both the poor quality of the cake I received and the poor...
