I've been numerous times over the last 7 or so years, and their food is absolutely delicious. I've personally never had any issues with service, wait time, or the dishes. But I'm really disappointed looking at the responses to lower reviews. Whoever is writing these is out of their mind. If someone posts a lower review, what I'd expect is either no response, which is fair considering it was likely a rare anomaly, or a respectful explanation as to what happened and an apology for their experience. What I don't expect is extremely condescending, haughty rants berating the customer for daring to leave such a review. These rants include excuses for poor service including being short staffed (apparently the customers should just know/infer this?), political views ("woke bs" "lunatic administration" "bidenomics"), and telling reviewers to "grow up" and other condescending stuff. Am I going to return? Yeah probably. The food is delicious (their Avacado Curry might be the best curry I've ever had). But this has definitely soured my view of this place.
owner responded so: If a customer with a poor experience decides to leave review like "this place SUCKS i HATE this place," yeah go for it, berate them all you want. But if someone has a subpar experience, and writes out their problems in a respectful manner, I'd expect for a respectful response. Yes, this restaurant is great, but at some point, someone will get poor service or an undercooked dish, and to berate those people for "not understanding" is just kinda sad. I'd try to get them to come back, prove to them this place is better than they thought! Instead, you're basically just reaffirming in their minds "yeah this place sucks, never returning." No my feelings weren't hurt, in fact at first I found it super funny and refreshing how blunt you were. But the fact you respond to everyone this way—even if they voiced their complaints in a very respectful manner—is what...
Read moreWe have dined at Tuk Tuk for three and a half years: lunch, take-out, dinner. The constants: fresh oh so fresh ingredients; beautiful presentation; efficient, professional, personable service; extensive, authentic choices on the menu; specials that take advantage of something fresh and novel in the market and the diner’s sense of adventure. To dine at Tuk Tuk is to experience Thai food at its best. The restaurant is spotless, winning highest marks from the Hanover/New Hampshire health department inspectors. There is accesible parking. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is colorful, charming: it feels exotic and it feels like home. This pandemic has destroyed many restaurants. No customers inside, reduced to take-out, business has withered, food quality has gone down to nothing: better to eat out of cans, in many cases. Not at Tuk Tuk. The owners took stock of the extent of this national health disaster and shifted focus to takeout, takeout, takeout. The order and payment process is seamless. You get the same menu selections that you can get at the restaurant itself. The pick-up system is safe, easy, there is parking 20’ away, and your name is on your selection. The staff is personable, efficient, eager to help, and masked: you are safe. The food is piping hot, beautifully packaged, ready to go. And it is delicious. As carefully prepared and presented as if you were on your first great date and really wanted everything to go just great. This is not take-out, this is like having Tuk Tuk in your own kitchen at home, only you have to set the table and clean up after. Bravo Tuk Tuk! Looking forward to our weekly take0out affordable Thai food...
Read moreSo I’ve tried this place a couple times now and I cannot understand all the good ratings. I think the people giving it such good reviews are just simpletons who live in the middle of nowhere and have never gotten out of New Hampshire & had truly amazing Thai food so they don’t even know any better. Ive not only been to Thailand, but I’ve had Thai food all over the country & would not recommend this place. I’ve tried the Panang curry, pad kee mao, the crab cream puffs, mango sticky rice & Thai tea. The cream puffs and sticky rice were maybe a 3/5, but the main dishes were both so bad I threw them away after a few bites. The Thai tea was just ok. It’s very overpriced too for what you’re getting. I also am giving them a bad rating bc I went through some of the reviews and noticed how the owners are INSANE and soooo unprofessional, petty and incredibly rude to patrons if they leave less than a 5 star review for them. That definitely made me never want to give them my business (on top of the food being bad and over price) I honestly cannot wait to see what kind of nasty response they will have for me after they see this review lol. I wish I could direct you to a better Thai spot but it’s Lebanon and most the food I’ve had there so far is very blah or...
