Luv Boutique — Attraction in Hartford

I've got to be honest and say that when I used to work here the nights were poppin with customers just about every night. Nowadays the store at night is like a graveyard. Business I would imagine is not all that good. I think the main reason is of course competition from VIP of Hartford's and Bookends who's been around for 20+ years. Due to the decline of DVD and VHS sales and rentals due to the faster and more anonymous internet they have decided to sale on adult toys and lingerie. That's great if you ask me but when you ask for 20 to 30 dollars more than the competition on an item you're only asking for people to shop around. The re-inclusion of the video previewing booths may have been a mistake as most booths don't get a constant cleaning and has a stagnant smell of sex. Also with opening the booths has brought more of the "seedy" element of customers looking to "prey" upon first time curious customers. Sticking with keeping tabs on internet sales and local competition prices and be more agressive with sales along with the removal of the booths I think would restore this establishment to its...

This store is the worst. A few friends popped in before hitting the strip club next door for our friends birthday. I wanted to buy a bullet vibrator. The saleswoman wanted me to try it out first, so she grabbed the open tester one from behind the counter and turned it on. I had the new unopened box from the shelf in my hands ready to buy, but she took it from me and swapped it with the dirty open tester version, and sold me that one for the full price. I was upset, but didn't make a fuss and left. I figured maybe it was just opened that week. Upon returning home and examining the product, it was dirty and clearly well-handled. After cleaning and using the product less than five times, the battery now only lasts for about 15 minutes. I'm really upset that I have been sold a used defective item from this store that probably hundreds of people have touched, too. I feel really disgusted over this. Beware - do not shop here. What I don’t understand is how anyone would ever spend 60-70+ on a product when you aren’t even allowed to check out the quality of a product by opening a completely recloseable package !!! Then when I approached the counter to ask a question the person that was supposed to be attending the counter was to busy gossiping with another lady to pay attention to a costumer and I actually had to say excuse me TWICE to get the absolute disrespect I received. And then to be told that because I said I didn’t have 60$ to buy ONE specific item (even tho I had around 300 dollars in cash with me because we are going to a concert in hartford) that I shouldn’t be allowed to try on a product because the person behind the counter just assumed that I don’t actually have money and therefore don’t have any reason to try on the product. Worst costumer service ever!!!! Have never been treated with such disrespect in a store before and will NEVER be back. Way better places to...
