The model train track is an entertaining and captivating sight. The museum is like a portal into the automotive past of the country. The cars on display are some of the rarest vintage cars ever put on display. You literally walk through history. There are cars from not just Kisseler but from other manufacturers such as Ford and Chevrolet. While Ford produced budget friendly cars, and still does till today, Kisseler produced rather expensive cars but couldn't survive the great depression. There is also an actual, real, non-model, fully functional, coal fired, steam powered locomotive tucked on the 2nd floor, how it got there is a question...

The Hartford Auto Museum is a hidden gem. If you are an auto enthusiast you have to check it out. They have the best display of Kissel autos that you will every find. Kissel was one of the finest autos ever produced and it cool that they were built right here in Hartford Wisconsin a mile from the Museum. Among the Kissels they have many other great cars on display, many beautiful Nash autos. The staff is great with folks in the museum to answer questions and share with you the history of Kissel. I highly recommend it to everyone even if you are not an auto enthusiast. It is a great display of the history of automotive...

Planes, trains, and automobiles can be found at this fantastic hidden gem! Ok, it's mostly cars and trucks, but they do technically have a little bit of the trains & planes too! The kiddos loved walking through (3 y/o & baby). The old firetrucks were a hit, as was the train (both the model train when you enter as well as the large engine in the back). The volunteers are passionate about the museum as well - they have a lot of good history to share if you're interested. We will be coming back again when...

Great collection of lesser known autos and memorabilia. Particularly interesting is the copious amounts of personal history from Kissel including personal scrapbook with early company notes and patents. Many interesting hood ornaments. Plenty of better known companies as well, fantastic 57 Lincoln Continental and a beautiful 36 Studebaker Dictator. Too much to list, if you love things that move head on down for a few hours.

This large building, attached to a performing arts center, holds many cars built from factories here in Wisconsin. Pretty cool. There was a luxurious "Kissel" brand made in Hartford that was owned by many famous people. There are also many recent past models on display here also. In the back is also a working steam train that goes out on tour once or twice a year.
