Kawailoa Beach — Attraction in Hawaii

Pretty nice beach here. I took surfing lessons in the early afternoon, and it was a beautiful beach to do it. There were several surf lesson providers on the beach as well, so it must be a great spot for beginner surfing. There was, however, a ton of traffic through here, sometimes stop and go, as well as foot traffic from the parking side to the beach. There seemed to be just enough parking where there was always one or two spots open. Worth the drive out...

Loved this place it is for more experienced swimmers but there's rock areas to explore with kids like we did that have tide pools and they can play in safely even with the ride rising around 1 pm. Waves are rough and the surfing you need to be careful of because of the boulders under the water. Definitely heed the warning and yes there is lifeguards...

3.5. My kids had a wonderful time with their surf lessons here. There seems to be enough parking but lots of traffic in the area makes crossing the street or pulling out somewhat difficult. We were also unable to find a public restroom nearby. It wasn't too crowded. As every review has already said, lots of rocks and not good...
