I visited this park for the purpose of walking/hiking the AllTrails Truman Park Trail. This trail loops through the grassy area to the southeast of the pond, extends past the pond through the wooded section of Truman Park, and then enters the wooded area of St Stanislaus Conservation Area going down to Charbonier Rd. The Park offers a wide, paved walkway that is easy to walk despite the elevation gains and losses. The walkway through the Conservation Area is a natural path through a heavily wooded area where growth over the path sometimes has to be waded through. A challenge for me on this path was a very steep, stepped descent on the east side of the loop. Luckily I had my hiking pole with me for support. The way back on the west side of the loop was also a challenge with a very steep, almost scramble-like ascent for the last maybe 1/4 mile of the Conservation Area before getting back to the Truman Park walkway. Also along the west side were a couple of large downed trees that have to be climbed over (check out the photo of one of the trees with my hiking pole of about 3-1/2 feet leaning against it). This west side is also far more overgrown than the east side - probably because it isn't used as much due to the downed trees. Overall this is a good park to visit for some healthy exercise. No comment on bathrooms or playgrounds because I didn't notice what I wasn't looking for. I did notice, though, some anglers at the pond, so there must be some decent fishing.

I love this park. It's usually empty with the exception of folks who live in the homes that abutt the park. The city stopped stocking the pond, which is sad. They also no longer have the fountain turned on. Looks like it's even been removed! Which means the water is green and stagnate. Still, a quiet, well maintained park, with a shelter house, playground, restrooms, and a shelter/bandstand on the far side of the pond. There is walking trail that is paved and moderately easy to walk or bike. I'm not sure if the project has been completed, but they were going to have the trail link up with the Katy Trail.

I love this park I live close by so it is very convenient. My border Collie mix, Wanda Lu and I walk the whole park every day. I grew up in Hazelwood. This park wasn't a park then. Belt's aquarium was on the entrance to the park. This family of ducks are there every day. I believe they have made Truman park there home. I seen them the 1st time. At the beginning of September. These ducks don't back off when you walk by. I wander how long they will stay.?

So I came here on whim to longboard around. It seems like it would be thrilling to ride here cause the hills are steep. Unfortunately it rained last night so it's really unsafe for me to ride the trails. Debris from the trees is everywhere. It's also still very wet in some spots. On a green day when they have cleared the trails and it's dry. I'm going to come back and let it rip.

Update: This park is great come get a good walk or run. Or just chill and...
