Went Palm Sunday Mass here today and my disabled father who can’t attend mass in person but watches on line mass requested for me to get him the holy communion. I had the Pyx that my deceased mother gave him before she passed for Father to place in there for him, but refused me! Stating he can only give holy communion to one person, so I did not receive holy communion today on Palm Sunday. I gave the holy communion to my father instead. And Father just shrugged his shoulders like oh well. Made feel horrible! Like I wasn’t worthy enough to receive holy communion at all! I’ll find another Catholic Church to attend for...
Read moreIt's a lovely church. Quite a few members and growing as people move out to Helotes and the Hill country. It's a bit of training church for new seminarians every year or every 6 months or so, there is a new priest that "learns to fly" as it were in the church and then moves on. Makes mass a bit interesting...always something new. Different opinions, different church culture, coming and going. Some things are consistent though. Although their ushers are not the most helpful, they are tolerant of elders and children and you do not need to ask to bring communion to elders...in fact, most have a place in the...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Helotes, Tx. It's a really beautiful church. I went to Xmas Eve mass. I sat in the chapel because the main church was full. It's also lovely because this is where the beautiful statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe is located. I was able to make a donation there & write down my prayer request for my brother after mass. She is the patron saint of our mother. So I'm hoping she heard my prayer & will grant our family the special request that I posted. I will hopefully return to this church in the...
