At first I booked storage place it was $169.00 a month 10x10 ask for first floor Took forever to get contract done over on line their software didn’t work couldn’t finish contract. Called main office the lady on phone took my cc and charge for the month was supposed to be $169 After being charge she says there is a processing one time office fees about $ 29+ don’t know exactly since I wasn’t given receipt. She said you can finish contract upon arrival on site Clifton NJ since we having problems on computer. Ask her about lock padlock she replaced it’s cylindrical lock couldn’t me more inf other than cylindrical trying to tell me I can only buy lock from them. Ask if any insurance need it she replied it’s my choice if I want to. We arrived at location 1:30 pm no one in office light down office close called main office they telling me there is a worker in office bc phone line is busy. Looking at window phone is off the hook no one around after 30 plus minutes sleeping beauty arrives calming I was on my lunch break. Normally in place like this when customers come at different times a office worker display sign out on lunch … Ok we had no choice but to buy cylindrical lock and property protection sleeping queen shows us our bin bringing cylindrical lock. See pic I ask why did I have to buy $20 stupid lock she replied it’s company policy to make us buy their lock but seeing pic on some of gates people have their own padlocks. Granted place looks clean not many locks on gates meaning not exactly rented guess bc of scamming people and their policies. I am wishing that I looked at the reviews on this CubeSmart location sooner. Like myself, I now see that many other customers have had ongoing issues with mice.

I came to check on my unit a couple of years ago, to be met with an overwhelming, horrible foul smell which turned out to be two dead mice in my unit. Not to mention, a whole lot of droppings and urine. I had to throw away several hundred dollars worth of belongings, and what was sentimental enough to keep, I did my best to clean. I was there for 6+ hours cleaning. I only give two stars instead of one because one of the staff was kind enough to help, and my overall experience with the staff has been positive. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who helped me out.

I returned to my unit today, and once again, mouse droppings all over the front of my unit, despite having placed a couple dozen peppermint repellent bags all around previously. I do wonder if other customers are keeping food in their units, because I can't imagine what else is causing this issue. Last time I came, one of my unit neighbors once pushed an empty Snapple bottle through the grate above their unit, so that it came over to mine. Today there was what appeared to be a baby bottle from my OTHER unit neighbor's side, filled with dried up old formula. There was also a full bag of McDonald's garbage sitting right in front one of the facility entraces, and all kinds of litter in and around the place.

Meanwhile, my monthly rent for this unit has gone up nearly 50% over the last 2-3 years, even though I'd been told that I would get a "break" on my rent on account of the "inconvenience". I will be leaving CubeSmart for good. No reason to keep giving them my business after this. Be...

Unit flooded due to faulty facility sprinkler system causing +$15k in damages to belongings stored in facility. After +6 months of negotiating with management to provide a 3rd party insurance assessor to document the water damage, mold damage and rodent damage from the facility, I was provided 2 unqualified individuals who were subcontracted handymen to move items around or out of the unit. Flood happened in late January and after 6 months of back and forth with Store management and "executive" team, the "inspection" took place with myself present. No member of the facility or executive staff was present during the audit and I was left to micromanage the subcontractors who were in a hurry to go to their next job but took no initiative to move or document things. In the end they documented the damages on their phone which I asked for copies to be sent to my email by them and also requested this to facility management and was never provided with the photos taken that day, wasting another 4 hours of my time. Store management was not friendly or helpful throughout the process but rather hostile and dismissive. I had to follow up countless times over several months to arrive at the concession of an "inspection" date. If you value your belongings, your money and time, you wont waste any of it with this CubeSmart location or any CubeSmart franchisee location. From the outside everything is seemingly professional and polished, but it's all a facade once they have you in the door. They will continually jack up your rate multiple times throughout the year, we had at least 5-6 increases over our tenure. Please stay away and don't...
