UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW ABOUT CABINET CONTRUCTION:
Misleading Sales Information – Not All Wood as Promised
I was specifically told by the salesperson that CNC Cabinetry cabinets were all wood. Based on that assurance, I chose the Park Avenue Ocean model. After delivery and installation, I discovered the cabinet doors are not all wood as represented. This is incredibly disappointing and misleading. I feel deceived—had I known the truth, I would have made a different choice. If accurate material details are important to you, be very cautious and verify everything in writing before purchasing.
I really didn’t want to write a negative review, but 309 Home Design Kitchen and Bath left me no choice.
I purchased a CNC Cabinetry 24" Vanity Base, a 12" Drawer Base, a mirror, a medicine cabinet, hardware, and a vanity top. From the beginning, there was little to no assistance in making sure I was ordering the correct items. I had to make key decisions without any expert guidance, which led to multiple issues.
The medicine cabinet, which I requested to be 5” deep including the door—as I was told I could request a custom depth instead of the one on display (which was too deep)—ended up with shelves (only got two for a 30" cabinet which should have gotten at least 3) that are only 2.25 inches deep. That’s too shallow to be functional, especially when the industry standard for medicine cabinet shelves is 3 inches. When I raised the issue, the owner basically told me I’m stuck with it because that’s the measurement I gave them—without acknowledging that a little advice or a simple warning would have prevented this mistake.
I also purchased what I thought was a standard-size mirror, but it appears to have been custom-cut and arrived unfinished, with areas missing paint on cut edges. Very unprofessional!
While the vanity top fit is fine, I received no help in determining where the sink should be placed. My husband and I had to figure out the off-center sink placement ourselves—something I expected a kitchen and bath dealer to assist with.
The cabinet door color does not match the vanity bases or the medicine cabinet, creating a mismatched and unprofessional look. And the drawers were all installed crooked. Luckily, my contractor was able to adjust them, but it took time, which I had to pay for his extra time. This is probably because the cabinets are assembled by 309 Home Design and were not properly inspected before shipping. Also, their prices are not wholesale prices!!
And the hardware? That was the last straw. The door pulls are far too large for the cabinets, and the drawers need knobs instead—pulls simply do not work. I called about yesterday, but after several conversations about various issues, the owner seems like he will not respond to me. Now I understand why—my receipt states the hardware is a custom order and non-returnable. Yet another reason I should have been advised that my selection would not fit properly.
Since the cabinets are under warranty, I’m reaching out to the cabinet manufacturer about the color mismatch between the cabinet bases and the doors. But overall, this experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and completely avoidable if they had just offered some basic support and follow-through.
I will not be returning to 309 Home Design Kitchen and Bath, and I cannot recommend them. Don’t be fooled by the quick turnaround if you need cabinets in a hurry—it’s not worth the time, money, or aggravation.
Go to Home Depot instead. I purchased really nice kitchen cabinets from them over 20 years ago with great service, and they were perfect—and still look...
Read moreI’m not interested in wasting much more of my time on 309 Home Design but I do think I have a responsibility to warn people.
The service at first was lacking in communication. I later found out that there were some personal issue going on with my consultant, and I figured we all have those days and wanted to move forward with the project. I ended up ordering 11 cabinets so it wasn’t a small job. I paid and signed all the documents.
By the time my cabinets were due I suddenly couldn’t get a hold of anyone. No one was answering emails or phone calls and when I went to the store, there was a little sign on the front door saying the store was closed until new year but they were available by phone and email. This seemed odd as I had no prior information of the closure and no update on my cabinets. They still weren’t answering the phone or emails.
I was finally able to get in touch with the owner Steve and set up a delivery date. At that time he helped me by switching my payment method from one credit card to another and issued a check to refund the initial payment after I gave him the new card.
Delivery day came and the guys were late showing up, in a rush to get the cabinets off the truck and dropped 3 of my cabinets off the truck onto the driveway. Other cabinets were delivered with scratches, dents and other issue on the inside. The cabinets were not properly wrapped all the way around and were not secured in a pallet like I was initially told they would be. The driver told me they would take back the 2 cabinets that were damaged from falling and that I should email pictures of the other damages to Steve. I promptly did so, and his response was to blame me for the damage claiming that I must have drug them inside and created the damage myself. Even though there was damage all around the outside of cabinets and on the inside. Not just scrape marks on the bottom.
He proceeded to promise redelivery of the cabinets they took back and eventually stopped responding to my inquiries altogether.
I put in a claim in my credit card so they could help resolve the issue. I was hoping this could at least push him to deliver those 2 cabinets they took back. He lied to them and stated that the check he gave me was a refund for the job and therefore he does not owe me anything. This was a clear lie since my new contract and the follow up emails clearly showed this check as part of the payment method switch.
He never delivered the cabinets that fell off the truck and I had to repair the other damages myself. I was out a lot of additional money just to complete my project.
I do not recommend working with 309 Home Design. It is not...
Read moreThis guy sold as a showroom vanity with a topper made of "composite stone". The vanity was sold as is, it was in perfect condition. He kept saying the things he sell are top quality better than home depot. I asked multiple times about the quality of the stone and it would get damaged after cleaning it he said no, thst it was a very expensive stone. However, after we install the topper, it chipped off immediately. Now, I could fix the chipping but it turns out the entire stone feels like is about to break, the shape is started to get distorted and we just install it we havent use it. I am thankful that it was broken when my contractor touched and he realized about the issue bc my kids use the bathroom. I have 2 boys under 3 and you can literally not even lean on the vanity, bc it will break. As you can see in pictures, is made out of cheap material.
After I message him, he kept, repeating that he sold a things in perfect condition, AS IS, bc it was a showroom item. I understad things are sold as is. However, he lie about the quality of the item, again the entire stone is trash, is falling apart, and he wouldn't exchange it for another stone or anything. Please if you buy from this guy, make sure you habe knowledge about materials bc otherwise he would lie to you.
He will scam you and sell you something "great" and ends up being cheaper than shein. Be careful dont make the...
